LW or anyone else running a Vortech company kit,
Here's the deal... You can't buy the renegade conversion kit with a 3.33, The conversion comes with either a 3.00 or 3.15, longer bolt and key for the 8 rib pulley, 8 rib tensioner pulley with spacer and bolt, Also a belt that fits a mustang is included... You can buy it in this form from Vortech for $227 which is a good deal if you have a stang but a 3.15 supercharger pulley would be flat out dangerous without additional fuel system mods, Also the supercharger pulley does not fit a Lightning correct! You have to run it backwards and add washers behind the pulley to get the alignment right... This is not the way I like to do things so I would mill the pulley to fit correctly... You will also need a Mustang style water pump pulley to clear the big crank with button head bolts, I don't know what the correct belt length would be for the larger size pulleys but "hopefully" the correct sizes are availible... The belt length is pretty critical with the Vortech company setup due to the head units mounting location and its close proximity to the water pump... I think maybe Billy from here on the board runs a 8.0 -3.15 combo so if we get his belt length I think I can figure what size belt will work with a 3.33 or bigger pulley... FWIW, a 3.33 will be crankin pretty good (about 47, 500 at a 5500 RPM shift point) The 3.47 or even a 3.70 would be a better choice if a small injector, high gain FMU approach is used...
