Joliet Race 2009

RhinoRacing

Team Vortech
Was planning on racing in the event in 2009 who else is going to try to make it and does anyone know how big it was last year?

Thanks

No Lfest and no WFC, so maybe this will be a good Lightning party weekend? I'm really going to try and make it. If I do, I'll probably run True Street as this would be my only NMRA race.

Shawn I think we should go ahead and pic a hotel to party, uh, stay at.

Keith, Yeager, any of you guys have a suggestion?

I posted something in the ILLNESS section to see where and if they stayed down there.
I think Jaeger camped at the track one year.

Most of Joliet is pretty raunchy and the hotel reviews were not to good.
I found these two further South West, no bars but near the riverboat casino.

Fairfield Inn Joliet South: Earn Rewards points and stay productive when traveling to Joliet
$109

Hotel - Joliet, Illinois - IL - Hampton Inn Hotels
$129

Some of the South Siders should post up soon with better info.

Guys, If you would like I will see what I can do for getting a spot set up just for all of the lightning guys to pit and party. my work email is jconley @ promediapub. com if you have any questions regarding the event. Look forward to seeing everyone at this event. Put a list together of people who plan on attending for me so I can get an idea of how much space the group will need.

Have rooms booked at the Fairfield for 3 nights, Thur-Sun.

I'll prob leave the Truck class to you guys and run True Street. . .

A designated pit are would be great as long as it's not some awkward area. I'm recalling WFC10 when we got put in the grass, along a fence and had to do a three point turn to get back into our spots.

How many trucks do you think will be in the truck class?
I'm thinking the true street classes are usually pretty large.

I also assume that (with the economy and all) most won't commit until a month or two before the race.

I think a Lightning only spot is cool!

But with my enclosed trailer I cant do the pitting in the grass thing like they wanted us to do a WFC10

If you could get us on the paved part you would be the man! :eek:ldtu:

I got the reserved space approved for you guys. If any one has any questions feel free to email me at jconley @ promediapub.com. Look forward to seeing everyone.

Talked with Johnny Lightning last night he said he will be attending the event and will have his support vehicle full of the latest and greatest parts for your lightning and will also be available for technical advise.
