By the time you get it setup Jeff there will be 50 rooms already booked at the Fairfield Inn???? Is everyone suppose to switch then? Be nice if the Fairfield Inn was the Host Hotel. :eek:ldtu:

That is awesome:thumbup::thumbup:

I am staying at Fairfield myself, but I think that all you are doing for us is awesome. Thanks :applaud::tu::thumbup: See ya at the party :clinkmugs

When we first looked for a place to stay we were only figuring on a dozen or so people.
The two we posted look safe, clean, inexpensive and close to the track. Neither one is super big but that just means less people for us to **** off:)
I never contacted the hotels because, at the time, I had no idea it would get this big.
So.... no, there is no group discount at the Fairfield.

I had also looked at the Empress Casino and Hotel (which is real close to the Fairfield South), I couldn't find any info on the Hotel. I do see that they also have an RV park attached to the casino.

We didn't figure anyone wanted to deal with downtown Joliet either.

I'd be willing to look at what Jeff sets up, but I doubt I would switch at this point.

EDIT (I switched:BL:)

we have staff that work hard to get great discounts at hotels it takes time we just have not come up with one yet for this event. We are trying to get the Empress Casino to become the host Hotel If it becomes one you still have plenty of time to cancel the others.

As of 2pm today the Empress Casino will be our Host Hotel and Party Place. Will post prices and info as soon as Sharon gets the Contract in her hands.

Will, if the Fairfield is very close (easy walking distance), then I don't see a problem with just staying at the Fairfield and partying at the Empress Casino?

We'll just see what the price is at the Empress as soon as Jeff gets it posted, but unless it's considerably cheaper, I'm not inclined to switch.

x2.... just have to un hook the H/D

Here's the scoop...
First off the Empress is two miles away from the Fairfield, so not walkable.

The rate at the Empress is $69.00:) ($40 less)
Phone # is 815-744-9400
The block code number is #85791
(When I called she had no record of that, so she just gave me one that mentioned RT66 in the name?)

There is a pool, so we get to see Yeager's thong:scared1:
There is an attached restaurant.
Cancellation policy is 24 hours.
The parking area is bigger and is attached to the huge lot for the casino which would be great for the trailer guys.
Also, there is the attached RV park. I forgot to ask the rate for that.

If you want to see the layout go to google maps and enter..
2300 Empress Dr Joliet, IL 60434 and check out the satellite view.

Might as well switch, especially if they are going through the trouble of having a gathering for us.

I imagine that this place will sell out quick so I would jump on it soon.

That's the code sometimes the desk personnel do not have clue on what's going on when you mention the code also tell them you want the NMRA/NMCA block discount for the RT66 event that weekend.
