drag racing rules

i did a fast search and didnt find alot, i am looking for the rules and regulations on drag racing, a guy i work with has a circle track car that he is wanting to turn into a drag car, he is going to have me drive it for him, as of now the car only has a plexi glass windsheild, all the other windows are gone, i told him i thought we had to have the windows but i am not sure, i also need to know about the drivers door, as of now it is welded shut and has a window net, would that be legal or does the door have to open, i already now we need to put a light on the back for night racing, any info would be greatly appreciated

Yes, you need to have windows and the doors need to be able to open from the outside. You should pick up a NHRA or IHRA rule book. Or check out there web sites and see if they have rules on there.

thanks, i thought i needed windows, just wanted to be 100% sure before we re-installed them all, and i figured we would have to fix the doors, but that wont be that hard
