I want to know how bad the Lightnings are with some real good winter tires and weight in the back of the bed. Might be moving out to Colorado and wanted to get some input. Thanks Hunter
I'll tell you what. I'm from northern maine and we have plenty of snow. I have the bridgestone winter duellers on my lightning with only about 50lbs in the back and I can go anywheres I have to. I'm not saying I can go in the woods and break any new trails but in general there is no problemo!!!!
I bought some F250 Supercrew 17" factory aluminum mags, with B F Goodrich all season radials (275/60/17 I think). Unfortunately I put them on 2 days after it snowed last. Oh well. That's my luck. They definitely don't stick as well as stock in the dry. I'd imagine they're better in the snow though. A couple hundred pounds in back of the wheels wells couldn't hurt either.
It's OK, that's my Bronco. It's not that close, but I'm the only one that drives them anyway. Notice that it's the passenger sides next to each other. No passengers = no harm.
I really wanted some serious snow this year. It seemed like we were due since we have had 2-3 years of really mild winters. Usually we get 2-3 pretty big snows per year. That was the worst one and it really wasn't that bad. Now it's March so I doubt I'll be seeing any more snow.
EDIT: Hey, I just noticed that it looks like I have a "No Parking" sign sticking outta the top of my truck.
