Willie and I went to Hallsville today (2-24)

Is wasn't a perfect day, but it was pretty decent. There was an occasional 10-12mph. headwind. The track was sticking really well for Willie and I. I made 6 passes with the '96 Stang GT, the best being a 13.27 w/ a 1.90 60ft. My best 60 was a 1.85. I am sure it would have been the quickest, but my blood/alcohol level was at the point were I couldn't find 3rd gear. I missed 3rd gear on my last 4 passes! The track crew laughed at me, because they saw me with a beer earlier before I started having problems.

I left before Willie made his last pass or maybe two. It was getting late and he was waiting for the sun to disappear. His best 60ft. before I left was a 1.65. I will have to give him a call to see if he ran any faster. He was still tuning in his suspention. He did manage to destroy his personal best e.t. while I was there. I will post when I get the official times from him.:D

Official times

OK, just got the phone with Willie and he made one more pass after I left and it was his best one of the day. He said there was still a little headwind.

R/T ***
60ft. 1.68
330 4.96
1/8 7.69 @ 89
1000' ****
1/4 12.09 @ 111.20

He had been hitting a couple of 90mph at the 1/8

Here are some of his other times
12.19 @ 111
12.17 @ 108
12.14 @ 106

As you can see he was tuning his suspention and adjusting his air pressure. He kept dropping the pressure a little at a time and the tires were slipping on the wheels and was a little loose on the top end. You can also see that the head wind was also hitting him on a couple of other passes.

I would kill ..............

for those 60 ft. times, but with the Roush suspension I'm SOL. Great runs!

Justin,

So does Willie have a computer or are you the designated press secretary? :p

Yeah, you could say that. We just really have the same interest. We both like to go "Hogg" hunting.:D I should be able to catch up to one and torture it (him) in April.;)

If you plan to go "HOGG" hunting, you better be gunning w/more than just a SC 5.4. B/C if that is all you plan on bringing, you may catch a piglet or two. :D It seems like to me, when I read certain posts that certain people have more excuses than mods. ;)

Tell Mr. Willie that if he can get his excuses:D worked out by Friday, I'll see him at the track or in my rear view mirror, which ever happens first...:Y

Thanks 4 giving me another opportunity 2 talk some more SH$%

Hey Terry, when I get my truck together you are going to have to put your money where your mouth is, cause I am standing on my desk trying to type this post because of the bull$h!t. I hope that 11.97 is not all you have. I will be able to do that with my street tires.:D

Terry
Make sure when the smack talkers collect for the show down your bottle is full rather than almost empty like last weekend

Justin,

I wanna see an 11.9x on F1's....

That shouldn't be a problem.;)
FYI, did you know Johnny Lightning ran a 12.2 @ 117mph the other day at full weight and street tires?
The long tube headers and ported heads really helped him out.

That is because he was running a super secret nondetonating chip that is using the latest in alien technology that no one can read or something...

Sam - should be interesting to see how it controls detonation on a per cylinder basis when there is only one knock sensor, which is disabled by default...

Justin - The reason I said i wanted to see it is because I wouldnt believe it unless I saw it... Especially here in Texas... Now at Cecil which is where JL and other run ? Yaeh there is enough glue on the track that if you had enough luck and enough power you might be able to pull off an 11 sec run on f1's. DOnt forget to some people "Street tires " are ET streets

Yeah, there is a difference in weather here in East Texas. I plan on doing it down here. I will run either my f1's or buy some new Toyos. My tires are almost worn out. And the traction depends on the driver and the track crew. The nice fellows in Hallsville will spray down the starting line and even tires with VHT if I request.
I know you will have to see it to believe it, it would be hard to imagine. But you have to think how fast can a Lightning go with every bolt-on imaginable and running 21-22psi. of boost? All of my bolt-ons are already here, I am just waiting for the built shortblock, blower, and heads/cams.
BTW, I had been thinking 12-14 psi. of boost and a 200-250 wet shot.:D
And to think I am having the best engine builders to my shortblock and heads.;)

Hey Terry, don't worry I've got your back against these Gen 2's ;)

Hey Raymond,

Appreciate the back up, sometimes these Gen2 guys can get a little grumpy. If you can get my injector size problem worked out or are able to hook up your tuner to my Ford Motorsports kit, I could stop playing w/ these puppies and go after some BIG dogs! :D

BTW, Justin...my wife said she would like to run you stang vs. stang if you can get all of YOUR excuses worked out...
