Will SES light hurt performance?

mine came on on my trip down to the track today, just curious if it goes into a limp mode or anything.
 
Usually its not good for performance. Like JJ said it depends what kind of code its throwing. Usually when the SES light comes on, some emissions part when bad and it cuts out timing everywhere and thats not good for performance.
 
If your chip is burned for it then it shouldn't come on. Mine never has but it didn't before I had the chip reburned. I had the breather on the driverside at that point in time though.
