I've seen alot of people talking about major engine failures lately and it scares the hell out of me. what specific problems are people having. any input is appreciated.

It's As Simple As This

Here's what one persons response was in the thread RF is refering to:

1. JL street Chip
2. Stock Pulley
3. SplitFire Plugs
4. melted plugs, chipped and bent a valve in 2, 4
5. Freeway, going about 80 (very short period of time)
6. 93 Octane gas +MMT Booster
7. 3,500 RPM
8. 2001, 5,800+

SH!TFIRES slagged and destroyed valves.

He trashed these plugs for months every chance he got when anybody posted about them.

When a post was started a couple of months ago about detonation he came out of the closet about how he had a serious detonation problem for a while before his motor blew. He chose to ignore it or cover it up by using octane booster. If the search feature wasn't down on F150online I would post it word for word.

My point is people need to step up to the plate and take responsibility for THEIR mistakes and quit blaming it on parts or something.

I also think that it is because these motors were NOT designed to handle over 400 hp at the rear wheels for any length of time.Plus alot of them are drag racers WOT to the traps then closed throttle think what is happening to the rods.
I only know of 3 failures due to chips mine being one. From what I have seen it is not a piston problem[preignition or detonation] it is a rod problem the lenght of the rod is so long and these motors are spinning so fast at times something has to give.and it does.I think like Thor01 does on this one if you mod the he11 out of it and over boost it its YOUR own fault.Stan
