Who has NOS, and how much?

Pondering my options....

Anyone running NOS on an otherwise bone-stock 01 L, and what are your numbers? How much of a shot are you running? What about those with JDM chips?

I was pondering about going with a 125 shot rather than getting into pulley upgrades...
 
smart move...just get a chip burned to make sure your a/f ratio and timing are perfect...you'll save alot of money that way too
 
Well, with a JDM flip chip we worked our way to 150hp, using an NOS wet system with cheater solioids and a digital progressive controller. The only other mods are JDM boost bypass and line mod.

its a 2001 with @1300 miles on it.

Drove to the track, no cool down time, also have not been on 4 wheels down the track in a while (motorcyle drag racer)

Made 4 passes

13.38 @103 street chip no NOS
12.80 @ 106 NOS chip and a little NOS
12.50 @110 NOS chip and a Little more
12.51 @110 same tune up

These were made with a FULL tank of fuel and everything else you can think of in the truck. Stock tires at stock pressure. NOS 60ft were 1.89's

I have 2 10lb bottles mounted behind the wheel wells.

I hate to give out any jetting info based on our set up, still undergoing some testing. Wouldnt want you to hurt anything.

But NOS says to use 61 Nos jet & a 38 Fuel for 150 HP using a fogger 2 nozzel on the lightning. (but I think this is a little lean on the fuel..just my 2 cents)

Ours set up is a multi nozzel staged set up, with the progressive controller.

We are swithing to the new NOS injector adapter as soon as I get my hands on them, they put the Nos & Fuel right in under the injectors, then we will still have some going thruogh the blower

with the addition of a 4lb pully we hope to run 11.99 with stock f1's
 
I just looked up my notes and when we had the single nozzel fogger set up with the progressive jetting was 63 Nos & 42 fuel

That was juat a tad lean on the fuel
 
yep..eek, I agree I thought I could get where I wanted with just the bottle, but thats not the case. So that makes me REALLY concerned about the rods and wrist pins !!

After the pully we will start back at @50hp of Nos and work our way back up. also some fuel system upgrades to include a seperate NOS High pressure recirculating fuel system.

We have been using 104 fuel, so that might have to go up a bit.

Also the thought with the seperate Nos fuel system is to use alky for the fuel. But that will have to wait until we get the new NOS MPFI injector nozzels.

Stay tuned...could be fun!

Are you planning on "upgading" the internals anytime soon?
 
Yes, we will be updating the motor, We will be starting with a fresh crate motor and updating it with all of the "Good Stuff"

Hopefully we will get that together before we see any bad things happen to the one thats in it!

I ran the NOS last year and got a best of 12.93 @ 106 with a 50-75 shot and had no problems... I was running a JDM chip, Down's air intake and M/T ET streets... This year i wanna go for the 100 shot and with some additions this year hit the 11's...
