Iam looking for rubber couplings to build my own 4" intake tube. The coupling has to go from a 4" id to a 3.5" id.AFM has them on their Power Pipes and they wont tell me where to get them.Any one know?
Thanks Ken Z
Try this website. http://www.bakerprecision.com/silicone.htm Saw it when someone posted basicly the same question over at corral.net a while back. Scroll to the bottom of the page. Have all kinds of couplings.
Thanks, it looks like those would work but they dont have the flex rib in the middle. They only sell them in red or blue, I would prefer black.
Thamks Ken Z
I have seen this site before, I believe I got it here, anyway, these people are crazy! These prices are unreal. $45.00+ for a 90 elbow, there has got to be a cheaper way.
Ah YES!! Look no farther than the big orange sign!! At the home depot speed shop the crafty people see all sorts of neat things to build!LOL! I have a 4" custom "power pipe" or "cold air kit" or what ever you want to call it. I made it from 4" thin wall PCV tubing, 4" thin wall PCV 90' elbows, a rubber 4" to 3" coupler, and 2 4" rubber couplers. All the couplers are black rubber by the way. This connects to a K&N 9" cone filter with a 4" opening that sits inside of a Kenne-Bell ram air box set up! Works good!:tu: I painted the PCV with black interior die(autozone). It has held up for months now. Looks nice!! And $$$$$45.00 bucks for a DAMN elbow!! Well, they can keep it!!
With some cutting and refitting I made an intake tube out of a charge air cooler tube from a PSD. Looks good with the aluminum tubing and blue couplings holding it together.
LOL...I shouldve thought about the PVC way of doing it. I work at Charlotte Pipe and Foundry Plastics Division. Work with the machines that make those fittings everyday.
