Where to buy a Lightning???

Hi all,

I am new to the VA area (Petersburg) and am looking to buy a 01 or 02 Lightning. I went to Sheehy Ford in Richmond today and they are out of their minds. They would not budge from the sticker price for an 01.

Anyone know of a good dealer or someone looking to sell theirs? I prefer silver, but it depends one the deal.

Thanks,

Jamey

There are four SVT dealers in the Richmond area: Bill Talley Ford (near the airport), Sheehy Ford (on Midlothian Turnpike), Richmond Motor Company (Broad St.) and Universal Ford (Broad Street Road in the West End). I cannot say whether any of them will deal. If not, there are dealers in Norfolk, Chesapeake, and Fredricksburg. You can look on www.svt.ford.com to get a list.

Hope this helps.

Ya I already got the list of all the dealers, I was just wondering if any of them would actually deal.

FWIW, if any of you are interested, I have the capability to hook you up with the X plan discount. The paperwork has to be completed and faxed to FoMoCo by 31MAR but once you get the PIN, it's good for ever.

In case anyone has no idea what the X plan is, it is the friends and family discount from Ford on any Ford, Mercury, Lincoln, etc vehicle. You pay 4% over what Ford employees pay. It usually works out to BELOW dealer invoice price. The is no haggeling and it is a set price.

e-mail me if you want the info.

They will talk.....

I bought my 01 at Tedd Britt in Fairfax. Mind you, I bought it a week after Sept 11.....NO ONE was buying vehicles...I had Koons Ford in Sterling bidding on the truck as well. I got my 01 for Invoice..28,900...;) So, dealerships WILL talk....If you go to Tedd Britt...ask for Steve Dutton....he sold me my 01 Lightning and my brother his 00 GT. You can say that Scott Mears referred you. Good Luck!!

Yeah, best bet is to get on the phone, forget that going in cold deal. I tried that with Koons in Sterling and they were bung-holes. So I started calling dealerships, saying, "Hey, X dealership will give me a Lightning for this much, will you beat it by $500?" Keep calling 'till you get your decent deal.

FWIW, X plan would be the way to go if you can score it, I'd reccomend that route. You'll get it for below invoice, and won't have to pull the haggle stunt.

Yup, I scored an awesome deal on a Black '01 at Universal in Richmond. No one else could even come close. I decided on a 01 because they are offering 3.9% APR for 60 mos. Here is there info if anyone wants a great deal.

I'll be picking it up tomorrow night :D

Well, I picked it up last night...this truck friggin rocks!!!

I'd post some pics but I think that just about everyone has seen a black stock L :D:D:D:D:D

I got mine here locally. I got $1000 of sticker. Not the best, but I also got 2.9% for 60 months financing. That's not too bad of a deal all in all when you figure that in. They told me that Ford didn't discount SVT vehicles. Another dealer also told me that, so I was thinking that $1000 was pretty good. I guess I could've done better, but again, I did get the low financing so I don't feel too used.
