What's up with??

I've noticed lately that none of the distributors have 800 numbers for placing orders.
I know that I like to be able to call up a dealer at any time, especially while I'm at work.(I don't like to make long distance calls at work)
I would be more likely to do more business with different distributors if it wasn't a long distance call for me.
What does everyone else think?????

i don't like to make long distance calls at work either ;)

actually, i always felt that non 800 numbers are less likely to keep me waiting. i'd rather shell out a few cents or use my cell phone (free long distance) than get stuck on hold for 20 minutes.
but if both the local and 800 number were posted, i'd probably use the 800# first.

What's worse? Waiting on hold for an 800 number or waiting on hold for a long distance number??? Not to mention how many Distributors do you know of put you on hold?:D

I forgot to ask

What is the Bull Dog driver side mirror mod????
Yes I know who Bulldog is.:D
I'm just trying to see witch vendors might catch on and switch to 800 numbers. Calling up to Jersey and to anywhere else is just not that easy when at work or home.
Or maybe I'm just being cheap:D "But all my money belongs to the L"

Yeah I don't get the "All your boost belongs to us" picture.?

According to last years data at the dealership I work for the average inbound 1-800 call was four minutes long at an average of .26 cents per minute or roughly $1.00 a call. I think the problem compounds with specialty vehicles as the call may start out as a purchase call and turn into a long winded tech call or vs versa. I would imagine that the tuners that handle the specialized products for our trucks aren't prepared to handle the amount of free inbound calls both physically (free calls would greatly increase the # of inbound calls) or financially.

Personally I don't mind spending a few $ to know that I am not being rushed to make a purchase decision and to have my questions answered to the best of the vendors ability. I guess you could always see how bad they want your business by trying to call them collect :) .

Thanks Kerrdog, guess I didn't think of it in the vendors point of view.
No sense in banktrupting them, your right I know that most of my orders turn into a question or two.:D

Yeah! I'm banning JL, JDM, PSP, etc. Just kidding!!!!!!!!!!
Would be nice if they had a 800 number, but mods are like a drug they know you will still call them up for some Horse Power!

Hint: use cell phone with nation wide minutes!
