What tempature T-stat do I want to get?

Hell, lets make it so you can search and find answers huh? I think it would be 160* and 180* is stock but I'm not sure. Plus it will show up for a search if someone looks later on.

Stock is about 193-195... Get a 180*.. Since you're in the north you don't want a 160

also I believe 160 wont let the computer get out of the warm up loop and the truck will run rich

Yup, Kevin's correct. Don't go lower than 180*. Otherwise you'll be stuck in closed loop. Not very efficient.

Actually, that's stuck in open-loop.

Fact is even the 180's do not give you real good heater control in the cooler climates. Next winter the stock stat goes in , then in the spring when the track opens the 180 goes back.

Well being in the cold Wisconsin climate I've never had any problem roasting my balls off with the 180 in it...I've had 180's in Mustangs and Lightnings in Wisconsin and never had a heater problem..

I'm with Curt, I've never had a heating problem with the 180*. you have to turn it off, or barely in the red to keep from sweating. Granted it doesn't get super cold here in Jersey, but we have our fare share of cold ones. Maybe you outta try flushing your heater core Steve.
