Well, most of us L owners seem to spend between $1,000-$5,000 on the mods and by far the greatest concern is voiding your warranty. Most of us do not buy this truck as a collectible vehicle  as Ford is trying to call it to explain its anti-modding warranty limitations. What should Ford change about its policy with voiding your warranty?

They should sell it w/o a warranty and drop the price. That way they would sell less and my resale value will go up.

They should build into their stock "performance" vehicles the ability to withstand at least a 30% power increase and stand behind their product. A set of Manley rods would not have added that much to the price of the vehicle. Just my .02.

Doesn't JDM do R@D for Ford? If they do, then shouldn't the parts that you buy from them be compliant with your warranty coverage? If you buy the Ford Motorsport breather cap in the catalouge, then you have to have a chip burned to avoid the check engine light. How come everything (just about) in the Ford book says for racing only, or not for use on pollution controlled vehicles? Some of the parts are even the standard issue ones on your vehicle. They need to get their ---- straight.

The SVT booklet says any performance mods will void the warranty. I never saw this booklet until after I purchased the truck. Do you think this is one of the major selling points that Ford advertises. Hell NO. Salesmen don't know their *** from a hole in the ground. Whta can Ford construe to be a performance mod. Sounds like a lot of things. Harder bushings for example....
Removing the hitch for weight reduction could br considered a performance mod. Adding watter wetter to your intercooler or radiator. A none funtional ram air hood is a performance option ?
Could be as vague as Ford's policy is. A cowl induction hood ?
V groove spark plugs. Anything that isn't oem or Approved by Ford.

Realistically shouldn't Ford Make a Public statement about which add ons are blessed or not. Will they ever.. NO way.

STAN!!!!!!!!!! ENOUGH WITH THE POLLS ALREADY!

You have the strangest polls. Why don't you just ask people what they think, and not give them 15 answers to pick from.

Quit being such a puss and mod your truck already! :D :D :D

JOE!!!!!!

:talking in insane voice:

I love polls, ok?! It's my new addiction. I can't help myself. I must make polls. I'm made to make polls... Those bar graphs look soo neat! :D :mumbling:

Help me come up with some poll ideas, ok?

:heard in a Pollster Anonymous meeting:
-Hi, I'm Stan and I'm a Pollster...
-Hi Stan!

:D :D :D

I'd love to mod my truck, but I don't have a backup ride in case I break this one. Wanna donate one? I'll take a '03 Dodge Viper Competition Coupe. ;)

The trouble with polls is I don't see what I think in the Voting.

In this Market I think Ford should be trying to increase Market share and Owner Loyalty.
In the 50s and 60s You were Ford or Chevy Family. Generations went buying from the same Dealer either because of Dealer Service or the way Manufacturers handled problems for someone else that you knew. Now,
SVT Dealers have mechanics I would not let work on a Bicycle. They are not Trained or Paid properly for warranty work.
I believe to increase Customer Loyalty is to encourage Dealers to act the "Old Fashioned" way: Make the Customer happy. Is that hard to understand?

I have my service work performed by a non SVT Dealer. When I stop for gas and someone comes up to me and says I sure wish my wife would let me get "One of Those" I make sure he knows what dealer to go to when he gets a new Extended Cab.

An example of this attitude towards the Customer can be readily found in the Airline Industry. While American, United, and Delta have cut back and laid off
thousands Southwest Airlines did not layoff anyone and are in fact adding new airplanes to their Fleet.

I would think someone at Ford should understand it doesn't cost to make a few Customers Happy, it pays.

A side note, the Cadillac Commercial in the Superbowl. They are try to make you think if you buy a new Cadillac it will be the pleasurable experience that occur when you bought a 59, yeah right, until the first time you take it in for warrany work!
