What does it take to be in TALON

I know you have to attend one meeting and one track event, but is there anything else? I am wondering, because there is a certain someone who has attended at least one of each and has also run a 12.36, but has not been considered as having the fastest truck from TALON. Most of you gentlemen know who I am talking about. I was just wondering and me may be wondering also.

Thanks,
Justin

I'm curious why that matters ?

Isn't TALON a way for Lightning guys in this area to get together and just have fun. Although I've haven't been able to attend any get togethers I hope to as soon as the truck is back on the road.

I thought you had to become an urban legend or something, buy and replace $5000 worth of mods on your truck, have one fight with Ford over the warranty, and run the quarter mile in under 14 seconds in reverse -----

Silver, Sixpipes, what are the rules????

--- Milton ---

Well, this was taken from the TALON site. Does he qualify for #3 and #5?

George

Here are the TALON Rules :

1. There are no Dues or Bylaws

2. To be considered a member you have to do BOTH go to a meeting and an race event and PARTICIPATE in both

3. If you have no sense of humor you are NOT welcome

4. You MUST have a Lightning or at least enjoy talking about them in a
positive light.

5. You Must Enjoy Going to Hooters and or Bonedaddys since many of the meetings are held there.

6. We have Meetings on the first Thursday of each month the location is posted on the TALON forum

7. We'll make up more as needed.

As far as Willie goes I always assumed he was a member. As far as the fastest truck in TALON goes, I dont think I have ever gotten much involved in those conversations since I am no where close to the fastest and dont see myself attempting a run at the title anytime soon if ever.

Maybe we need to put a page up on the TALON site with a list of members, best times, mods, email addresses, and any other relevant information. Maybe that would help us keep track of who holds membership. Just a thought.

Well...........since there's actually nothing at risk here, it seems you only have to participate to be a Talon member. I think you cease becoming a member when you don't participate. Does that make sense to anyone or am I just out there?

Since I have only run 12.737 and have not participated or seen any other "Talon" trucks run faster than that, I guess I have the fastest Talon truck I have seen. What's my prize?

Answer: Same a everybody else. Zero..................and I can live with that. :D

Sam, you mean like this?

I guess the ones from on track are right.
I do have a fair 3 liter overhead cam motor if you might be looking for one.

Well everyone does have a point in a way, but I guess I was looking for some other answer then that.:)

I think we also need to have a vote on who has the best looking truck besides on having the fastest truck. What do ya'll think?

I already voted.. Mine is the prettiest .....

Topic closed.....
Goes back to rule 3.....

Mine was and is the fastest Talon truck to run at Cecil MD Thanksgiving week 2001....
Man is this server slow .....

Justin: What kind of answer were you looking for? TALK TO ME BROTHA!!!

Sixer: I know about that page, just thought a excel type grid system with more info would be uh like more informative? Just my opinion. I know Doug did a thing with a back to back dyno/track session back in the day and if we did something similar with a TALON membership theme it would be neat!

However as usual I am just talking out of my a$$ :D

Hormel Chilli RULEZ!!!!

Well, here's an idea! Lets have an initiation of some sort...we'll all line up in 2 lines and the new person has to walk through the lines while getting their a$$ kicked. And then you're a TALON member :D OR, we can hold a candle light vigil! :)

George

HEY, this kinda goes back to my previous question about alternatives to TALON membership! So Justin, I'm right there with you....except that I just can't make it to ANY of the meetings!:(

Justin-Hey buddy, hows things goin'? If I remember correctly, last time 380hp asked how you become a member, Silver 2000 said we had to bring a truck load of cute hotties to a TALON meet!! Not sure what they plan on doing with them when we show up though! LOL! This sounds like the best initiation plan to me!:D

Yeah, I'll second Skanks' idea, truck bed full of honeys sounds like a lot of fun! I'd definetly(spelling?) skip class for that!:D

George

Combine the two ideas... Bring the hotties and THEY can walk the gauntlet and get their asses smacked by all of us... mmmmmmmmmmm Smackalicious...
