Well since everyone is bored!

I am going to run ID1700's, supposedly Injector Dynamics are the best performing and behaving injectors. They also have a wealth of information on their website to help tune.

I've run Siemens 60's and 80's. In my experience they have absolute perfect manners in my truck. This is a maf setup I'm referring to.

I hear nothing but good things about the ID's , but why would I spend triple the money when I have had no tuning issues with my 500.00 injectors. My truck has normal low speed driving habits and the mileage has been great when driven normally. I use the Classic Fast box now, I imagine with the xfi 2.0 it will be even better.

Throw E85 in the mix and you are looking at some seriously large injectors. The ID1700 is ~ 160lb injector that he is saying had better manners than 80s... They are big money, nobody is arguing that, but quality, construction, and tune-ability is what they are known for.

If you guys are happy with what you've got by all means don't change them :)

Don't get me wrong my Siemens were a huge step up drivability and idling then my smartfires where.

High impedance will always have better control over low impedance. But what are you willing to live with for 3 times the money?

A friend of my son's is a local import tuner, (no family budget, power yes, expense/cost not so much of a priority) swears by the IDs. His skills on import tuning are impressive. That being said he swears the IDs are the best injectors on the market today by a large margin. $EXPENSIVE$

Couple pics of the new wind maker.

I thought about 427, but with my combo the rod/ stroke ratio is better and more stable. Also less side loading in the cylinders. After talking to some guys we race with, engine builders and use of the motor there were no reasons that made sense to go bigger other than to say what the cubic inch was. Besides the turbo is what's making the power, not so much the motor.

You going to run a 9? I'm going to start calling you Ralph Jr. :tu

Hopefully Jim, but not until the truck is set up safely to do that. Should be no lack of power, that's for sure.

Since I sold my little 76 I decided to install the Comp 8079. Biggest reason was I wanted to do a little tuning with it to see how much change it makes to the tune. Plus I wanted to take the truck out, can't help it. Love driving it. First thing I noticed was the truck seemed to idle better, almost smoother, don't know why. Idle a/f stayed the same also. Put it in drive and started to get on the throttle, this turbo responds very quickly. On the brake and throttle it would build a few lbs. very easily. Had to add some fuel , but nothing serious was off. Took the truck out for a ride and I swear the truck runs better with this turbo. Almost seems like the smaller 7668 was too small for the 383 c.i. I had no complaints the way the truck drove before either. My new Fast xfi from Ed showed up today, so part 2 will start soon. I am going to install that while I still have this motor in. Just in case.
