Was wondering if anyone has welded their axles tubes or found so kind of brace? If so, are there any tricks or special steps I should take when welding them. Thanks for any info.

I welded mine, they say is helps...... I think the best thing to do is get rid of the Traction-Loc, I broke two of them before getting a Torsen.

I had the tubes on my Mustang welded after twisting the drivers side tube on the original housing. I twisted the thing 90* on a launch. What a fun ride that was !!!! :w

You guys be sure to work side to side about an inch or so at a time , as to allow enough cool down time between welds, hate to see you warp your housing. Larry

I have welded several sets of tubes up on Mustangs. But do as Larry above said and go from side to side and only weld a little at a time.

Midsouth race cars makes a brace kit for the 8.8 for use on stangs. May work for the L trucks.

Having the tubes welded is a good idea. But have it checked to see how far the tubes are out of allignment to the center section. My brother had the housing checked on his Buick grand national and they were off about 1/4 inch.
