What do you guys think of those? They have the 18"x10...and 5x135. That sounds like it will fit, its the backspacing I am not sure about, or even know what it is. 4 5/8" is the backspacing.

One other ?s for you guys, are all the Weld Wheels light? Looking to run Nittos on them so maybe I could ditch some of that rolling weight too and run a bit faster?

Thanks a ton.

Couple more...18" but not sure on there 5x135 or not...they have an extra / in them or something...these if I recall will help performance some, yes?

Which set did you like?

Not sure how much they weigh, I was hoping someone here knew :)

So since the backspacing is different does that mean the wheels won't work?

I tried to order Weld rims for my L but was told by a Weld tech rep that it is necessary to use th 18x9 for the front to ensure brake clearance. That means going to a smaller tire. By the way, the correct backspacing is 5.80. The factory rims are 18x9.5 so an 18x10 will stick out a little further.

So like some 285 or 275 tires up front or something? That would decrease drag resistance, and should not adversly effect handleing I wouldn't think.

Which wheels were you going with? The XP Draglights?

Any idea how much they weigh?

So by going to a chrome 99-00 wheel I could even save a few pounds plus the roational mass equation numbers right there....

Do you by chance know if the chrome wheels I keep seeing on ebay. com are any good? Seen them for 700 a set and they are triple coated.

Thanks for all the info.

I spoke with Weld last week about the 18" wheels they make for our truck and i asked them the weight of them and they told me depending on which wheel they will weigh in at 20-22 pounds!

Last time I checked Weld Didn't make a wheel that fit on the LIghtnings
My Wheels for my slicks weigh 20.5# but I think JDM now has a wheel that is Lighter, and Looks better than any Weld. Just my .02

Not sure of who if anyone sells the welds at discount, the draglight xp would be nice with some of the new 305 size nitto 555r on back.

what wheels does JDM sell? They are even ligher yet?

I just went to the JDM site, the only wheels I see are 15s

Also needs modifiying the calipers, so those are deff out for me.

I want something I can run on the street and not change anything else just to use them.

Yeah I thought about slicks for the track.

For now it will be a nitto on the back and some decent wheels even if I end up with stock wheels for them.

I just say that hoosier has the 16" tire for us now so thats cool.

I thought the new nitto would hook up real nice also I bet.

You think the Ls (mines black) would look good with the Draglight XP on them? the 18" versions, I think they are 18x9.5 also.

Not cheap thats for sure. Tire rack sells set of 4 stock 01 wheels for under 1k shipped to my door the I would likely get them chromed.

but the XP is probably super light so just by using that set of wheels and regular tires ought to help performance right there.
