Water Pump Suggestions

Well guys, my water pump gasket is leaking. Anybody have a recommendation for a new waterpump? Edlebrock, Evans, Ford? I'm willing to spend the money for a good pump. I'm thinking about one from Ford since the first one lasted 118k miles. Just wanted to hear what everyone thought about other pumps. I don't want to put on a aftermarket OEM and have to change it every year.

The Edlebrock water pump is a brand new pump not a reman.I have one on my mustang. No cooling problems. 10.8to1 500 horse
in 100deg ambient temp on the street.

The stock ford pump is the most reliable. Unless you intend on racing your truck and need every tenth of a second you can get, stay with the stock pump. I used to tow race trailers all over the place in the summer with the a/c blasting, no problem. Otherwise, switch to an electric fan and pump set-up.

Don't get a cheapy rebuilt one. Trust me, I went thru several in the past (not on my truck, but on other 302's and 351's) and had to take them back off. Pain in the a$$.

Thanks for the info guys, I think I'll go with the Ford pump since I can get it for $63. It won't be as flashy as the Edlebrock, but it is half the price. Is there a performance gain with the Edlebrock to make it worth spending twice as much?

Another GREAT pump to consider is the Flow Kooler. I got mine from Summit for around $90 or so and it did bring down the operating temps. Give them a call if you'd like another option.

BOOM!!! Resurection!

Anyone run the reman $16.99 from advance auto parts? I just want to get this thing running, not keep dumping all my savings into it...

Well I love factory parts and have a connection for good prices.

however, on the water pump, they are new aftermarket ones in a motorcraft box, no ford casting stamps on the last 2 I got, was kinda disapointed.
but they have been working good and the casting was good quality looking atleast.

What sucks is the water pump I have only has 2-3K miles... Inside is all rusty though and nasty looking... ehhhhhh might as well get a new one,, dang it!

I have had good luck with the auto parts remans. However i always double ck the style/angle of the outlet holes since externally they all look alike it helps make sure it is the proper unit for the application. Get one set up for fwd rotation on your rev rot app n it no work so good.

Most likely a pump reman'd in China. I would go with a new Water Pump if it was me. It's only a few dollars more. Just make sure it doesn't say Made in China on the box.
