Who would have thought Canucks would need a passport to travel in the US. What is this world comming to?

I know it sucks ***! Used to be able to cross with my license and birth certificate. But there are a lot of "new Canadians".
I remember going across the border to fish and seeing the Hippy (yes I am old) vans being torn apart looking for pot. Times have changed. Border control on the lakes was cruising over to Canada to buy "Canadian minnows" so you had a receipt if stopped by the Canadian DNR cops. 
Funny thing is the minnows never crossed the border in the lake.
