Western Washington is busy today.Bremerton has the Carl Vinson returning and the the olympic torch is in Seattle tonight.It is neat seeing everyone on the carrier getting to see their families.they have been gone for six months and a lot of the men are seeing their babies for the first time.

After 3 cruises on ships just like her, i can tell you whole heartedly, it aint NO fun. the ONLY good day is the last day. And I have shipmates from my shop on every carrier out, except the shitty kitty, she has her own compliment.

While serving in Uncle Sam's Canoe club, our ship was part of the "Checky V's" (Carl Vinson) battle group on a WestPac deployment to the Persian Gulf. Mind you this was just after the USS Vincennes shot down the Iranian airliner...
Nothing like pulling along side a carrier while underway in a 438 ft ship to refuel.
Got some pics too.
