Hi all,

Sorry no one has heard from me in awhile, I have been busy with work and the NEW girlfriend.

Things are really bad at work right now, and everyone knows I work for Dominion Semiconductor and we just got bought out by Micron Technology in Boise, Idaho and they want Tosiba to layoff a a percentage of the workforce(we don't even know what percentage), because Micron has never layedoff anyone in twenty years.

We are still holding our breaths during mandatory manager meetings and vicious rumors.

I feel I have a 50/50 chance in keeping my job, so it is really difficult right now. I know the industry will pick up soon, so I will get my job back if I lose it.

My girlfriend also works there and she is worried too!! I hopw things work out for both of us.

I was just posting this to let everyone know in club that I am still alive and well!!!

Sorry about all the confusion with the cart racing stuff. That seemed to go along with the events at work, so it got put on the back burner.

Hopefully I will see everyone i the spring(with a job) and we can continue our love for Ls as usual.

BTW, In my Sunday class (Java programming) there is a guy from Dominion. He said he is a machinery mechanic for day shifts. Tall guy, I forget his name......

Not much dude, just taking one day at a time!!! I know so many people there I couldn't even tell you the names of people on my own shift!!! I will give you a call one day and we can head up to hOOters for some wings!!!

Update #2

Well, it has been announced that this wednesday is the day when we find out if we have a job or not.

I am in high spirits and so is my girlfriend. I think both of us will come out of this victorious :tu: .

It has just been really hard even thinking about not doing what I love to do and not to have enough moola to keep the L.

I also realize that I haven't been myself as far as events go and keeping up with club duties, but I hope everyone understands and hopefully I will be ready for the 2002 season.

I will let everyone know how Wednesday goes!!!

Believe me, with PRC being bought by Northrop Grumman, there are all kinds of stories floating around. Not quite the same as downsizing, but definitely the same atmosphere amongst the worker bee's.........

I say, keep your head up, look forward to tomarrow and if things go bad, its their loss!!

Sometimes great opprotunities come in the form of a negative event.............

If things are a o-k on weds, we should have a wing celebration this weekend at hOOters........what do you think??????

Good luck Kyle. I went through it when AT&T bought my company. So far everything has worked well. If you guys/gals get together this weekend, have fun. I'm going to Daytona for my NASCAR fix.

Well.......today was the day!!!!!!!!!

I am happy to announce that am now an employee of Micron Technology!!! I didn't get the boot!!!

Out of three shifts that were looked over in my department only 2 employees were layed off. I am expecting one or two more to be dumped on tonights shift.

Dominion did give a GENEROUS severance package to those who were let go. I was told by my girlfriend that one person that she knew got a $12,000 check and six months of benefits.

Oh........and she is still employeed also!!!

I will try to call you on a good night for celebration wings. I am also in the process of moving too!!! I will try to fit you into this busy weekend!!!

I got slaughtered on tonights religion mid-term, so I guess I should spend more time in the books over the next 5 weeks.......

Well, I am not officially a Micron employee just yet.......Toshiba and Micron are still finalizing the contracts, so it could be a few weeks.

My best friend and his brother both lost their jobs last night and they are in good spirits. They were happy with the GENEROUS severance packages!!!

I would have been happy with that too, but I kinda need a steady paycheck.

Of course people are talking....it wouldn't be Dominion without a good rumor mill. They are saying people making over $75K will get a 10% pay cut(good thing I am not in that pay bracket), but............everybody knows that Dominion was the worst in industry standards for pay and shift premiums. I am expecting us to grow at Micron, because they are the #2 DRAM maker in the world!!! My manager told me that they expect overtime and promotions to get underway in a few months. I think that is good considering I am still a level 1 technician when I should be a level 2(I have been there for 2 years).

We will see what happens. And yes....we still don't know crap!!

I will let you know about my availability for this weekend.
