Uh....need help with my 94L

Black Stallion

AAARRRGGHH!!!!
I was driving to work in the L. I hit 526 and opened her up :D all of the sudden it shut down @ 110. I do realize that there is a stock speed limiter however I would love to find a way to bypass this.
So here are my questions:
How do I bypass the speed limiter?

Is this a safe thing to do?

(also on a side note, I seem to recall somebody saying that there is a terrible shimmy in the tranny @ 115. Is this true? If so why?)

I appreciate all the help guys, and I hope to meet some of you guys in the near future:cool:

The only way I know is to get a chip or EEC tuner.
Most everyone is going way of EEC tuner these days especially if you are planning mods.
My limiter is off and I've gone past that speed without shimmy

Hey Steve,

Thank you for the reply. What is your top speed that you have hit? And is the EEC tuner easy enough to install?

So with the EEC tuner, this does away with the chipped ECU. Right?

Thanks for all of your help.:)

Sorry for the late reply.
The stock ECM limits the top speed to about 110mph then cuts fuel.
If you plan a vortech install, I think I saw that in your sig., this is a recipe for destroying a head gasket if not an engine. You can get it removed via autologic chip or in lieu of that an EEC tuner. This basically allows you to program the many parameters of the computer yourself. Talk to Raymond on this board in the EEC forum he will hook you up. If I had it all over to do again, I would not of wasted my time or money on the chip- go EEC tuner, especially if you plan a blower.
Hope to see you at Bremerton.
Steve

That is the first that I have heard of a shimmy at any speed caused by a healthy tranny. I think that guy is smoking crack!
