Torque Convertor prob's have questions.. Pls. HELP!!!

Ok so what I thought was a cooling problem looks like it has turned into a torque convertor problem. See the "Temperature Rising" thread for the background. So what I need to know is how hard is the convertor to do yourself(ie. special tools , difficulty, time) how much if dealer does it and what I can expect to pay for parts(and of course which convertors you guys have had good luck with) also what problems can occur because of a bad convertor. Maybe it's time to look in to stepping up the convertor to a better performing model.

Changing a torque convertor is fairly straightforward. The last time I did it, it took about two and a half hours, but I was also changing a rear main and some other things as well. This was also on a hoist will air tools as well. It would be a good Saturday project if you were doing it in your garage or driveway. I would definitely recommend doing the work yourself, so that you can inspect everything and replace a few seals if need be.
