Important!!To all 93,94,95,Gen 1s(cruise control)

With my experience with cruise control lately, heres a word of advise to keep your cruise control working. The unit needs periodic maintance.what happens with all of or most of them, they get water in them some how, you( must take the top off and clean and lubricate them).with i used wd40 then blew it out real good, try not to get it in the motor part of it,then wipe it out.then i use spray lithium grease on all the little bearings.then i sealed up the unit real good so to stop moisture.the gasket where the throttle cable is might not seal that great ,might want to use silicone.

THIS IS A MUST,IF YOU DONT CHECK IT OUT AND MAINTAIN THEM,THEY WILL GO UP ON YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your welcome.from what ive been reading and what i went through,i found out these units have to have maintaince.if you let them go they will stop working. If you let them go too long then you wont be able to fix. These unit are not easy to get from junk yards, and a new one will cost you over $300.00.so just take 4 screws out and check, pull the top off.

I just took mine apart last night & it looked brand new inside. It moved smoothly also. It still does not work. ?????????????

This happens to alot of them ,getting moisture in them.KT you problem can be the so called clock spring in your steering wheel.this happens to them too.Does your horn work?if not its your clock spring.check your cable from your cruise control to make sure its not binding any.if so you can try WD40 .hold cable up in the air,(disconnect it from C.C)unit.then spray WD40 in cap of the cable and it should slowly go down. Then it could beyour circuitry in your cap of cruise control, which it probably not it.

I honked my horn & the speed control started working. Now I know what I have to do.
Thanks
