It is time to take the original tires off. And I need to know what kind of tires I should get for it. We found Firestone Firehawks for a reasonable price but I thought I'd get your advice. HELP!!!
Thanks
tom- my honest opinion, go with the firestones. its time to get rears for the 94, i really want yokohamas (street performance tires) but they are like 130 apeice. so i would say that if ur trying to stay in a budget, do the friestones or goodyears if u have to. mike
Firestone does not make the Firehawks for our trucks anymore... I went with the BFGoodrich HR4s. They have a higher tread wear than the Hawks did and they're also good in the rain.
What size BFG HR4's do you have? Can you get those in a 275/60 or something close?
Hey they added new smileys!! :b ;t :tu: :w ahhhhahaha!!!! (short attention span)
I ran the Goodyear GT IIs for 2 years and 40,000 miles and then sold the tires to a friend for $40 and bought some Nitto 450 275/50/17s. My truck is lowered 1.5"/2" and it looks and runs GREAT with these tires.
I got BFG HR4's, but I found out they put off the same color smoke as the 'Stones. I might even go el cheapo next time and get some Eagles. They are harder, but I've got a lead foot and drag radials for the track, so no big deal.
I have the Bridgestone Dueler HTS's. I have no complaints about them. They are wearing well and hook pretty good. They have a neat tread pattern and are directional. They are a little pricey though. I'd be interested to see how the Nittos hold up Rod. My parents had them on a 5.0 Stang and they went through them pretty fast.
Yeah, the Nittos are only a 300 tread wear rating, but I think since I dont race too much on the street they might make it 2 years. I do want to see how they hook up at the track.
Living in "The Sunshine State" we get a LOT of rain and the faster I make the truck, the easier it has become to get squirrely in the wet stuff. Im looking for a bit more stick this time. Time will tell...
