Time for more traction ?

I have way to much wheel spin--My best 60' is a 2.15--my 1/4et is a 14.10 @ 97mph.
The best girl said she'd pop for slicks, time to act before she changes her mind--I'm confused on what would be best.
It appears most run MT ET streets or BFG drag radials. I see alot of people running the ET's with radials up front at the track. How does work out with a truck like ours ?

Truck has PD, Bassani, Level 10 kit, Ranchos.

Thanks
Tim

choise

Take it from me the BFG's are way to heavy and for me didn't hook up. I have 29.5 X 9 X 15" ET drags mounted on 8 1/2" alumium rims, some might think they are too small but I cut low 1.7's, ran a mid 12's and the truck felt rock solid with 20psi of air at the traps, no problems at all. PS: I don't run tubes either

I have run both ET streets and BF's. The BF's will last you longer on the street, and they do hook well up to a point. I've run 1.66 60fts times on them. But if your just looking for a racing tire then the ET streets are the way to go. They are basically full slicks with little lines on them :tu:

If it's a full drag tire, why not just run the ET Drags since you don't plan on running them on the street... That's what I would do.. You won't want to run the ET Streets on the street anyway...Road manners are NON-existant.. I had a buddy with a Mustang try running some 26x10.5/15's on his Mustang on the street..After the first lane change he decided it wasn't a good idea.. I think the ET Drags would be better, less tread squirm because of the full slick design.

I ran the BFGs for over a year and put 8,000 miles on them. I also ran a 1.85 and 13.27 with the Drag Radials.
This go around I decided to go with the Hoosier Quick Time Pro. They hook real good as Ive already ran a 1.73 60ft time. This was done after the Rancho install, too. I run bias ply front tires with the Hoosiers. This makes them handle fairly normal.

size

Next ?
What size tire should i go with ?
The stock 275/60/17 measures 29.5 dia. with about 9.5 tread width.
I don't want to run short on top end and don't want to break anything on launch.
Thanks

Anything that is 28" tall would really help... If I was you I'd run a 28x10.5/15... This helps with the gearing(you want more).. At 105 you'd be running roughly 5200RPM.. So there's room to grow, plus it's an easy to find size since alot of Mustangers run this size as well..

I'm running the BFG 295's as well. I can't get them to hook 1.9 best 60' time, yuk. Should of went with something else I guess.
Hey Lightning Struck the reason most people do not run the full slicks is because it will exempt them from running most test and tunes and street tire classes . Stay DOT's or else you won't be running too much, around here anyway.
