SVTOA Meeting 2/23/02 PLEASE READ!

Adrenaline Junkie
Many of you should be in receipt of a letter by Olathe Ford announcing the next SVTOA meeting next Saturday, February 23rd, 2002. It will he held at Olathe Ford starting @ 9:30am.

Of special note is that two National officers are flying in to attend; namely, Reno Giammara (Nat'l President), and Terri Voytowich (Gen Mgr).

There will be an election of officers, as well as a video of the 2003 Cobra (supercharged) and an announcement of SVTOA parts discounts.

If everyone can find a way to attend this meeting, maybe we can get one (or two?) people elected and that will cement our being able to do events that everyone likes (like DRAG RACING).

I'm not advocating taking over this organization by any stretch of the imagination, but the people they brought in last month had a definate road racing bias that needs to be evened out.

I'd like to see them appoint Coordinators for all events, such as Drag Racing, Open Track, Auto-X, show-n-shine, cruise, etc.

Please give it one more try...hey, maybe we can even head over to the 210 Grill afterwards??

Ya think I can come even tho we don't have a SVT anymore? Greg is still a member of SVTOA...?

Ronda

You still have a paid-up membership? I don't see why not!

Roger did you see what Bob posted on the SVTOA web sight for me? For some reason he wants me to do a burn out? Not sure the reason yet, have you heard anything?

Hi Shawn. Nope I haven't heard a word from them, although I did reply to that thread a day or two ago.

Will you be able to come Saturday? I'll be there but I'll have to leave about 11:15 for another appointment.

Guys, you'll have to hold down the fort for me. One of the guys I work with had to take off due to a death in the family, so there's no way I can get away from work to make it over there.

Hey Shawn, a burnout in the parking lot of Olathe Ford - sounds like fun to me!!! :D If you do, take lots of pics!

Got my intercooler the other day, now I've gotta find time to work on the beast.

Let us know how it goes.

Vern

Hey ya all, don't forget about me! What time does this start? I forgot from last month. And if someone calls me and reminds me to bring the digital camera, I can capture Shawn's burnout if that's what they have in mind!

Shawn, I still have that Carfax for ya, remind me to give it to you Sat.

Rhonda, it starts at 9:30 Saturday morning. I'll try and remember to bring my camera also. I think Shawn can redefine the term burnout <g>

Sounds good Roger, Do you want to meet somewhere and follow each other down there?

Neil, ok I can meet you at the McDonalds right by your house at around 8am? Is that cool? Let me know before 10pm cause after then I won't be checking back here till after the meeting. Try either via email or by my home phone...the cell phone is in the truck and I don't check it until 10:45pm.

Roger you still have top burnout honors!!!! But I am going to give it a shot:tu:

Shawn It looks like I'm going to have to leave no later than 11:45am for another appointment so I don't know if the meeting will be over or not. In either case I think you be da man!

Hey Roger, For some reason I was thinking that this svtoa was on a sunday so I volunteered to work. I just heard that it was going to be 74 degrees so I put my priorities in line. ( I didn't stick around work very long , .3 too be exact) I'll meet you at Mcdonalds.

Whelp, I'll let Ronda verify the details since she was gracious enough to take notes, but the meeting was a resounding success! MKLO Members came away with 4-5 positions. With our experience in organizing things I think this is going to take off like a rocket!

Hats off to the following people:

Ronda was elected as Secretary (is that correct?)
Neil was elected PubMeister (Social Director)!!
Shawn (RhinoRacn) was elected to Dragracing coordinator!
T.J. (Lightning2Strikes) was elected Opentrack coordinator!
I accepted AutoCross coordinator and safety steward.

Oh, and btw VERN, you got elected to handle the SVTOA Newsletter--Congratulations brother!! :tu:

Ronda, please correct me if I missed someone--I hope I didn't

Please understand we're not trying to take any wind out of the NLOC (or MKLO for that matter)'s sails, just give ourselves yet another avenue for cool activities...it looks like it's going to be a VERY BUSY summer!

Yep Roger, you got it right! I think this SVTOA is going to be big. I think with Goodyear sponsoring SVTOA as well as others, I think it is going to do Kansas City some good. I agree with Roger, I think we as club members of MKLO are and always will be a close knit club and that SVTOA will not take OUR CLUB'S place. I feel we are more Friends than just regular ole club members. But SVTOA and it's activities will help our area with discounts (20% off parts at Olathe Ford for example) and events. It's going to be a fun summer!

And we had available SVTOA license plate frames to purchase for $3.00 or 2 for $5.00, I bought 4 and have 3 left if anyone is interested let me know. I also have the SVTOA decal's for your windows, I grabbed just a few extra and I think Neil did as well. Again, let me know if anyone would like one and we can exchange at the next MKLO meeting.

Bye Now....Ronda :)

WHAT? NEWSLETTER? You can't be serious. I sent Boris some drag racing info to be included in the newsletter. He then sent me an email and asked if I would be interested in doing it. I thought for a little while (about 12 seconds), and decided I really didn't need to get into that. So - this is all news to me!

You are pulling my leg, right?

Vern
