Sun roofs???

Red 93 L1 #3383

Boys & their toys
Has anyone ever installed one? If so I'm thinking about installing one. I need to know how much $, best brand & where to get. Also any tips would be helpful. Thanks in advance :D

Don't do it! I've never seen one that didn't leak (as far as the aftermarket ones). I don't think I'd butcher an L, either.

I wouldn't do it either. That's just butchering the L and it'll make the cab alot weaker, too.

We had one installed in our Towncar. It was an electric one by American Sunroof. It never leaked and we had it for a long time. I'm not sure I'd put one in a Lightning. Just doesn't seem like it belongs.

I feel they are home better in a larger cab truck. I also wouldn't cut up an L for a little more air/sun on my face.

Why not look into one of those rolldown rear windows? Those look pretty sweet and won't kill the value of your truck.

I wasn't going to install it in my L (although I would love one in it). I want it for my '80 F-150. The previous owner had a CB ant. mounted to the roof (3/8 " hole now w/ rubber plug). I hate looking @ that black rubber plug every time I wash the truck. I was going to use the '80 as a practice run before I ever would cut the roof on the L.

There's one running around here with one in it.The guy said it has never leaked so far.It is a good sized one that has two different sides to it.You can have one side open or the other or both. Not real sure if I would put one in mine.

lemme just say I would never ever ever put another sunroof in a car or truck that is worth more than $100. but I had a sunroof in the T-bird that never leaked. it was a sunform or strechform (???) my dad bought it and put it in twice and it never leaked once.
