Below is all my timeslips, I'm wondering now if it's
too cold for racing? I know cool air is good <shrug>.
Girlfiend got into 13's (barely) she got on the brakes
before the end (only 2nd time racing). I stood behind and watched, truck sounded pretty damn good at full throttle for only
having a magnaflow muff. No SES lights (yet) I raced
it full weight tonight, minus the hitch, it's not
going back on anytime soon. I can't spend any more $$$
on her for a while, got some bills to pay plus the new
wheels & powdercoating was a little over $800. Maybe go back when it's a little warmer? Was a 10.5sec LS1 body camaro out there, 12.5 sec Impala SS, 11.9 sec C5, 12.5 sec Z06. It was nice to line up with 2 cobras and 2 or 3 LS1's, was ahead of them all at the end =)

TX SVT LIGHTNING,

Your mile per hour is showing that you are making HP and you should be a 12.60, 12.70 truck.
Your 60ft are about 3/10's off.
They should be high 1.8's low 1.9's for every 10th you pick up in your 60ft you pick up 10 1/2 in the 1/4.
Find a sweet spot on your lunch.

Hope this helps

Jim@JDM

Yep, Terrible 60' times! 1. Smoke tires before! 2. Stall truck to 1100rpm and hold at light! 3. R/T (third yellow, aggressively put pedal to the metal!

Without Drags!
1.8 is great 1.9 is good 1.97-2.05 is avg. 2.2 is ..............

Just imagine braddah...Yu are a launch away from a 12 sec run....Get a routine and let it rip baby:D If ya cant do it with the F1's get some drag radials...And thennnn let it rip:eek: A 1.8 60 ft and walla 12.6 to 12.9 easy.....

I think you will get better results with 30-36 pounds in the rear tires. Low air pressure in short sidewall tires usually hurts traction. Give it a shot.

I'm still wondering if I should wait to go again on a night when it's in the 60's vs. 40's.
I'll try the reg 33psi in the tires, the burn out is a waste on these tires, I just spin them lightly to clean em off.
I go to our area track on Wed or Fri nights when its a Test & Tune, but they don't prep the track for T&T nights.
I'll have to look into going on saturday during a regualr points event, just do the Time Trials.

You let your girlfriend race your L?

My wife gets to Ride maybe, drive, only when absolutely no choice, Race, Never, Never ,Never !!!

Next, you might let a buddy borrow it for a date so he can go shoot down ricers on a Saturday night,

Just my $.02:rolleyes:

I don't let others borrow, and I have no problem with my girlfriend (of 3.5yrs) driving it either. Come on, it's not like you have to shift gears, just learn how the light tree works, get your launch going (something I'm still learning) and push the pedal all the way down.

Her first pass ever she didn't have it floored (i rode w/her)
2nd pass she spun a lot at the start (i rode again)
last night she braked before the finish line (she drove solo)
it's all a learning experiance

Thumbs up to the chick racers, I seen several around here, Hotties too :p

What rpm are you launching at, and how hard are you mashing the gas pedal?

Try launching from idle, and ease into the gas, then once you have it to the floor just leave it there.

Like Jim said experiment the way you leave the line. I get 1.7-1.8 60' times, and with a little experimenting I know you can do it too.

I run my stock F1's at 27-28 psi.

Good luck

Don

Don, I used your advise on my first trip to the track, 27psi no launch, just ease into it and then floor it.

Also I listed the time that I raced at, it's always been dark and on a test & tune night, no VHT or track prep. So I may look into going on the weekend during a regular Event and just run the time trials then. <shrug>

Sorry Guys and/or Gals, no put down intended, No doubt there are plenty of female drivers up to the task of racing and kicking some butt.

My point was badly stated. I just cringe at the thought of ANYONE else driving my L, I guess I am in the few and not the majority.:o

I have found that my truck leaves best at 1200RPM against the brake and quickly and smoothly mashing the pedal to the floor upon seeing the third yellow bulb. Stage shallow, meaning when you trip the pre-stage bulbs inch up untill you just barely trip the second staging bulbs. This will give you a little roll out and should help your 60ft times but will hurt your reaction times. I run 32psi in my F1s and have found that they work better if I barely heat them up. This is not what you are normally supposed to do w/ radial tires but it seems to work on F1s. My truck gets consistant mid 1.8 60ft times with a best of a 1.85 before installing the lower pulley and a 1.88 with 4lbs more boost. The most recent run was on a 48 degree day netting a 12.64 at 108.23 mph. I hope this info helps you reach your goal.
