I just grabbed two spots, now I have to decide which truck I'm going to bring!

The red truck - Go for that 10.50@130 pass that has been my goal for ~20 years. Should be a cakewalk with the torque converter change since the last passes that went 11.2x@128 since it will leave at 5-6 psi now.

The white truck - Throw some lower end heads on it and go for 11s with my from-scratch rear mount turbo setup?

I mean 20 year goal, who can vote against that…..

Well, I learned that 3 years between checking the plug gaps is too long. I had some significant spark blow out, and went faster by turning the boost down. I'm pretty irritated with myself for skipping such a basic maintenance item, especially since I took 3 days off to get ready for the event, which I then spent doing chores around the house.

The best (and only clean) pass was an 11.60@115 at 9 psi, and the truck had its first 1.5x 60' time. There's a little more in the launch, and overall I was happy with how fast it came up on boost on the foot brake. I was definitely satisfied with that ET/MPH combo, even through I didn't get what I was hoping for.

I'm converting the truck to the coil-near-plug setup I've had sitting in the garage for 2 years.

What convertor are you using? Your 60' times are WAY better than mine (1.92 best), but I'm still stock convertor and can't build any boost off the line.

Pretty respectable even with ignition issues.

I'm impressed. for a very basic setup on low boost with 300k, it rips along pretty darn good.

No, that's the red truck. :D The white truck may be able to sneak into the top 12s with tires and a little extra pressure, but I suspect it's at best in the mid 13s as I drive it.

I guess that makes more sense, haha. Didn't expect you to run it at 9psi so assumed white truck

I didn't expect that either! Just a stupid negligent mistake. But oh well. It drove great there and back!

I even drove it daily for a week beforehand (and realized how much of a death sentence the OEM size tires are) to make sure it was happy, but apparently I never loaded it up on the street like it was on the track, especially since I run it in "boost vs speed" mode, so I didn't experience the issue.
