spark timing tables

Do the numbers in the spark timing tables take into account the initial timing set at the distributor or are those numbers added to the base timing ? Example at low load 2000 rpm I am showing 43*. If my distributor is set at 10 does that mean I have a total advance of 53*or is it 33* + 10* = 43*

All of the timing tables take into account 10* of initial timing I'm pretty sure.. So if you want the same benefits as running 14* initial, you just add 4 degrees to all of the tables...

Exactly, the software "assumes" a base of 10. So if the table says 43 it's 43, but remember there's some other things that can affect timing. ECT, ACT, Load, RPM, EGR, etc. At WOT then you are pretty close to what the table says because the calculation is a bit less complex.

hummm ???

Ok so the timing tables assume a 10* initial. On my GUI at WOT 800rpm timing is 3* . Does this mean that timing is being retarded 7* at low RPM high load ?

Re: hummm ???

But you have to think about it, would you ever be WOT at 800 RPM and full load ? If so that would be a pinging mofo if it had much timing :)
