Hey Dave--Sounds good to me--I'm installing my ranchos this weekend--bad wheel hop at CA speedway last sunday--still running 6pd--want to see what I can do before installing 9pd pulley.
Still working out my inertia switch issue, everything else looks excellent !

Definateley next week then. I woke up too late today..filled the radiator with water and it was leaking at the thermostat really bad. I will replace it right now and try to start it again. Next week for sure

Tim: what did you run at CA speedway? What 60ft times? what tires?..LOL.

Luis get your truck ready for next week..no excuses

Clinton: I'll try to help you if i get my truck done soon. We need to see what that thing runs with the blower working correctly.

Man, I thought I would never get thru the start up on this site. I didn't remember caps or password for sure. the site to replace password dosen't seem to run either. Thank heavens the senior moment ended.

I will give the track a run. Let me know when you plan to go. I still need to borrow a helmet, unless I can find a deal on one this week..

I don't think I need the rims, but may change mind after first run. You know how addicting more power is.

Rick: I can probably get you a helmet again, no problemo. (I'll trade a helmet for a tank)

I started the truck up today and it idled perfectly at 10* timing. I now have a knocking sound near the passenger valve cover that I think is a roller rocker hitting the valve cover. I will look into it next.

Russ: The distributor was wayy off..LOL..I hooked up the timing light and could not even see the "0" mark. I then rotated it around a bit and finally the timing mark showed up. I set it at 10* it seems to idle best there.


GOOD TIP: Pull the coil bracket off to set the timing..much much easier

Dave--I ran a 14.2--bad wheel hop--2.3 60ft.
I figure ranchos and then 9pd pulley, i'll be pretty happy (for a week or two), oh yea and your stickys lol.

Hey Dave did you try to call me last night? Sorry man I noticed late... Anyway, LACR was cool this Fri. I sure was cold man! Something like 36. So, are you still plannig to go this friday? I think I'll go, but not sure if i'll run her I'll give you a call this sometime this week.

Guys I Cannot make it this Friday!!!!!!

After the lower intake install, I started the truck only to hear a loud tapping/Knocking sound that initially sounded like it was comming from the passenger side valve cover..after a lot of teardown/re starts the truck still makes the tapping noise and I have not found the source. Checked the roller rockers, upper/lower intake and pushrods..all seem fine.

The truck is now at a friend's shop and they cannot figure it our either. So now the teardown process begins. Can we re schedule the track day for another Friday or even Saturday morning??
LACR is open Fridays and Saturdays so whichever one is best for all you guys.

Hope you can fix that problem soon. I'm down for a reschedule. Gives me a chance to do something to my truck. Let me know when you get it fixed.
