After looking at various different vendors, I think that JDM has the most professional looking L modding business. Personally, I am not yet ready for mods yet. I wanna wait until my warranty expires first (I am at around 7,000 miles now), but if I do mod it I will take it to JDM. Problem is that I live in north Chicago suburbs and JDM is 850 miles away! That really sucks. 1,700 mile roundtrip anyone?
How much would it cost to have my L towed on a 1,700 mi roundtrip?
I would much rather take a plane there or any other mode of transportation that wouldn't require me to watch the road for 14 hrs each way. Ever since I drove from CA to IL I started hating long drives like that.
I like the way JDM offers mods in stages. I think that's great for non-gearheads like me. Takes the guesswork out of picking the right mods. Personally I would go with all stages at once if I did take my L for mods, and I would want JDM to do all the installs. I can fix or program a computer or even built one from parts, but I know nothing about L engines. :m
How long would it take and how much would it cost to get a 2000 L modded to run a low 12 second 1/4 mi? If I want to get every reasonable item that would ensure that my engine won't blow, what would those items be and how much would they cost?
I think JDM should offer mod stages with different goals. For example, Fuel economy/Performance balance, Max Performance, Best Value, Safest Performance Upgrades, etc. Has this been considered?
I heard that JDM does R&D for Ford, is that true?
How would modding affect my truck trade-in value? Would it increase if the mods were done professionally by someone like JDM?
