When I lived in Georgia, I had a '92 GSX-R750 that had a V&H pipe, K&N filter, and rejetted carbs. It pulled 107 ponies on the dyno. I was headed south on GA 400 out of Roswell at about 70-75 when I started past a new Corvettte. The guy driving looks over and gives me a thumbs-up as he downshifts and punches it. I'm like, O.K., I'll run that!! I downshifted into 3rd and nailed it. I was surprised that he stayed close with me at 3/4 throttle. I let him run up to about 150 (indicated) then went WFO in 5th. As I pulled ahead and shifted to 6th at around 160, we crested a slight rise in the highway and, sure as sunshine, a Sherrif's car was on the side of the road, with the deputy hanging out of the window shooting radar right at us. The car was a Ford Taurus Police Unit. The deputy didn't even turn his head to look at us as we blasted by; he just kept looking up the road for someone he could actually catch! I backed of the gas and exchanged thumbs ups and grins with the Vette driver and we went on our way. Never did get a ticket on that bike. I'm very lucky I don't have any on the '99 TL-R either! :tu:
