*sigh* i gotta have one of these..
if only i had never bought a lightning, i'd be rich now... slow, but rich.

give me some info on the hood... is it drop-shipped from somewhere, is it packaged well? is it pre-painted, gel coated, or primered? what comes with the kit?
are there any modifications i'll have to do to my truck to get it to work?
will it work with a airaid system?

uhm, i'm sure i'll think of a jillion questions before i finally order one.. is there a sur-charge for that? LOL

Info for Brooks

Well I can answer most of these. I ordered mine from Mark a while ago and love it. I was the same way, I asked him a ton of questions before I ordered mine too.

Here goes.

-I am pretty sure it is drop shipped from Proglass.
-It is packaged very well.....blown in foam around corners and all. It is shipped in 2 boxes w/ the hood in one and all the shaker components in another (also w/ blown in foam)
-It is completely bare when you get it, just a bunch of gray fiberglass to look at. I took mine to a buddy and had him put a showroom finish on it ($500). He primed it, blocked it, primed again, blocked again, painted twice then 2 coats of clear. Looks real nice. BTW.....that was on everything, even the shaker.
-It is intented to work w/ an open element airfilter system so yes your airraid is fine. The air enters the shaker is directed up into the hood the exits right over the air filter.
-The only mods you do to your truck is the mounting of the support brackets for the shaker setup. But nothing that will get in the way of other "mods". There is no drilling or stuff like that, just mounting brackets to existing bolts, and other hardware.
-Sorry I dont have pics to show you I will post some as soon as I get a chance to take them.

i'm still worried that it wont work with the airaid system since it seals to the underside of the hood. anyone out there with some experiance on this?

if it doesn't work, i could always upgrade to the 90mm maf & air kit. (and get rid of the airaid box)
or even cut the box down some.. its just sheet metal.

Mark here (LFP). From what I can see you shouldn't have a problem with the fit. If anything, a possible trim on the air box, that's it. Matter of fact Proglass is designing me a box that will mount similar to the air box you now have.I can also upgrade you to a 90mm MAF with new 01/02 ribbed air inlet tube $165.00 for the kit. Our 12" Power Stack filter kits are $169.00. Both in stock. You will need a chip/ or a chip reburn for the added size in MAF.
My shaker hoods are $765.00 plus $75.00. I can ship from my Houston shop anytime. Just let me know what you would like for me to do. Speak to you soon.
