roll bar / roll cage

Ok I talked to the chaissis builder today and he said he will take down all the mesurment's and if someone want's the bars bent up it will be around $250 + shipping. for the basic setup but mine has some extra's :D

The roll bar is made out of seamless 1 5/8 mild steel tubing .120 wall and will pass nhra tech

I will post some pics of mine next week when it's finished

That seems like a good price(off the top of my head from what I think I may possibly have seen pre made mass produced stang cages listed for)

Definitly have him write down the mesurements, I don't think any of us are gonna get slower ;) . That and I would get one of his over haveing some knuckle head that I found in the phone book make me one.

Someone should see if that can get your insurance lowered. It's a saftey feature right? :D

Jerry,

What would the 'basic setup' be because I'd certainly want the driver's side swing-out and either no passenger side or the "curved" passenger side bar.

Later!

Jeff I beleve the basic setup doesn't include a swing out or curved bar on the pass side but as soon as mine get's done I will get him to give an actual price on it for both ways and give his ph # to who ever is interested that way it takes me out of the middle so there won't be any confusion to what you are getting :)

I think Jeff is right. For the street driven trucks, the basic setup should be the swing-out driver's bar and a curved passenger bar.

Jerry, make sure you take lots-o good pics when your is done :D

Thanks.

Bump.

How long now till you get your truck back jerry?

Also how would he set it up so that it can be shipped. Probly without side bars and rear stingers welded on. Have to get that done yourself huh? I'm just thinking. I can't wait for pictures, I want to see how it's attached to the truck.

I hope to have it back by the end of the week. When I was over there on monday he had all the bars bent and was taking all the mesurement's so he would could make a kit if someone wanted it.

Yes it would be up to you to have it all welded together

I'm getting mine installed in July! But I'm going Chrome Moly instead of Mild steel! I figure these things are heavy enough as it is! I'm going 8 point I believe with swing outs!!

Yeah, I can't see it either, but I didn't want to tear up my dash and have a knee bar! Kind of a pain in the butt! You can go deep in the 10's with an 8 point!

Can't wait to see the pic!

It doesn't take much more to put in the extra 2 points off of the rear cross bar! But I dunno yet! I want a passenger side door bar if I'm going to have a drivers side bar! I think it'll just look a little more complete! They will both be swing outs and removable!

chrome moly is more brital than the steel and on an street car/truck it will crack where as steel will not.

roll cage

Jerry,

Did you get your truck back with the cage?

Did you builder decide if he was going to sell kits?

If so how much for what style?

Thanks
