roll bar / roll cage

Does anyone know what the rules are concerning roll bars / roll cages? How do they apply to a Gen 1 L? Does any one sell a bolt on roll bar or cage?

You just need a 5pt roll bar to go 10.00 and slower but it must be built to nhra spec's which includes main hoop, driver's door bar and back bars thru the back window  and it all has to be attached to the frame

Welcome to the club Kennebell93
Everyone hear should sell there centrifugal blowers and get a K/B. What boost are you runnin? Later Alex

Alix:
I run 6 or 8 on the street and 12 at the strip. I agree about the centrifugal blowers . I love my Blowzilla. As Jim Bell put it "Torque feels good!!"

Note: It's 11.99 to 10.99 for a "roll bar" - NHRA updated it's rules so that at 10.99 now you have to go to a cage. :(

Kenne: Any times on that rig? I used to have a Blowzilla, but switched to an S-trim. The Kenne Bell was nice on the street but just got walked on the track. I'm kinda curious what one would do on so much displacement.

Jeff:
I ran a 12:19 last year. Plan on going to the track Fri. should pick up some.

Jeff where did you see that revision ? in the 2002 rule book and under the faq http://www.nhra.com/contacts/tech_faq.html it still states you only need a roll bar for an unaltered car to go 10's and I called the tech dept last month and they said the same as the rule book

I just need to find out for sure because my truck is at the chaissis shop getting a roll bar installed

Jerry

Jerry, you're right. I just called a local chassis shop. I've failed to completely read the rules. :)

Mike, you must be a TORQUE ADDICT!!! A positive displacement supercharger on a 408 stroker.... man oh man!!!

GJLS: you might have done it before, but do you have a list of all that you had done to run those awesome times with the little ol' powerdyne?

I know heads, eec tuner, and slicks. What about cam/rr's/ignition stuff/injectors/transmission/rear end/suspension? I'm trying to figure out what stuff is worthwhile for a mostly street driven powerdyne truck.

And when are we gonna see some times and video of the new monster :D

Hey Jerry let me know what it cost you to put the cage in. I am terribly afraid I am going to need one too!:D

The total cost is $750 and that is for a 6pt nhra roll bar with driver's swing out, pass. side bar will be bent to follow the seat so it will be easy to get in and out and a rear lexan window

The chassis guy does top notch work so it should turn out real nice

Jerry:
What part of the country did you get the cage done? Can I get the name and phone number of the shop?
Thanks

Yeah, Jerry, why don't you check with your cage guy and see if he wants to bend up a few sets of bars. I'm betting that with the number of 10 and 11 second trucks springing up here, he could make a half dozen kits and sell them if he'll ship them.

I'll ask him about bending up some kit's Jeff

KenneBell93 his shop is in Oklahoma city and let me talk to him before i give you his # he doen't have a phone in the shop because he says he can't get any work done  and he's a 1 man show that mostly builds full tube frame cars

I second that!!!

Jerry:
I would be interested if he'll ship. I am in central Florida.
Thanks
