I'm taking my truck to Rockingham dragstrip (Rockingham NC) on Friday for some test & tune. The track is open from 5:00 pm until 10:00pm. It would be nice to see and meet other local L owners, so if anyone is interested please come!:tu:

Come on down to Kinston. I used to go to Rockingham but a few weeks ago a few of us went to Kinston. The track hooks so good I think thats where I'll go from now on. The track opens at 12 and closes at 5. Its about 1 hr from Raleigh. If you want directions or want to meet a couple of us in Raleigh then let me know. Mike lightningquick@msn.com

Would love to meet you guys out at Kingston, however it is at least at 4hour trip each way. The Rock is only 1 1/4 hours away. Maybe later in the season we all could meet up!:w

I'm headed down to the ROCK tonight myself. Not sure if we're taking the 94 Lightning. Depends if we finish swapping in the new injectors, recal the fmu, change some settings on the EEC Tuner and get the bigger bypass valve on. <whew> Regardless I'll be there driving a black 98 t/a that has 18" vette wheels.
I'd like to try Kinston sometime also but like Dave said thats a heck of a drive from where we live.

Maybe Billy and I should have made the trip to Kingston because Rockingham was a worthless waste of a trip!!! The water box was closed so that the drag cars w/ slicks could not make burnouts which lay down rubber for us radial guys. The best 60ft time was a 2.23  which resulted in a in a way off 13.02 @ 107.89 mph:m and it only got worse from there. I also feel the there was little to no track prep. My friend's 5.0 was also way off mark which usally runs 7.50 1/8 mile and could only muster up an 8.22 due to the lousy track conditions. Maybe next time!?

No doubt...that was a waste of a trip. The frontage road to US 1 hooked better! Managed a massive 2.28 60ft in that 98 t/a I was driving. I know its a new suface at the ROCK but geez. Guess you have to wait till there's a big event at the track to see some decent conditions.

Wasn't much better at Kinston, we had a 15-20 mph head wind coming at us. my best time of the day was a 12.781 at 105.87, and was the first pass.

That wind was terrible at Kinston, but I still had fun. I ran 2 tenths slower than last time but at least the track was in great shape. We had a bigger turn out this time and hopefully we can have even more next time. I talked to a couple of guys that worked at the track and they love watching the lightnings. Its nice to go somewhere and have people appreciate your ride. I had people all day talking to me about the truck.
