Hey guys I need help removing the outside mirrors. I want to take them to get repainted, since they are getting a bit dull and one "met" the garage wall once (long story). Any directions, or tips would be appreciated! thanks...

well to get them off the truck you have to remove the door panel and there are 2 10mm bolts you have to remove to get the mirror off the door plus the wiring if you have power mirrors as to haw to take them apart i have been tring to figure that one out myself

If you are talking about taking them apart (get the mirror out of the housing), just run the mirror (before you unhook the wiring harness of course) all the way to one side, then pull the mirror out with firm, even pressure. I know it sounds painful, but it works, I done it to a set of escort (same as convertible mustang, but much cheaper from a salvage yard than the verts) mirrors.
Thanks guys, good info! So all I do is drop the door panel, remove 2 bolts and the wiring harness, then the 2 star fastners on the outside? Simple! and once the mirro is turned all I need to do is pop out the glass? Ok, again sounds simple! Ill try it tonight!
