Rear End Continued...

Hey guys... I found the tag on the rear end that said 75-140W, thanks for the help. I have another question, which will probably not be able to be answered over the internet, but here goes.

When I opened up the rear cover, I found a small piece of metal about 1" by .5", in the back of the case, laying in the fluid. There were no other signs of damage, but this piece had definetly been sheered off in the case. On this piece, the numbers 033 are stamped in. My first thought was a shim, but I'm not sure. Anyone have any ideas? It is shaped like the end of your thumb, rounded and elongated. Thanks fellas.....

yes its definitely a tab off one of the clutches. better check the spiders and teeth on all the gears before they are grinded into oblivion.

I'd almost bet a large pizza (I'm hungry right now) that it is an ear off of one of the traction lock clutches. Very, very common. IMHO the best thing to do is ditch the stock differential and get a good aftermarket in there. Otherwise, you'll be rebuilding it again some day.

Good luck,
