Slightly annoyed with my truck at the moment. Seems like, after its year-and-a-half hibernation, now that I am running it again everything is deciding to crap out at once.

Let's see, there's:
- A busted tranny mount bolt (makes noise)
- Cruise control servo recently decided that it wanted to go on vacation. Fortunately, it came back from vacation the next day and has been working fine.....for how long???
- Last week the radius arm bushings started to clunk
- On Sunday the rear fual tank mysteriously filled itself with fuel, to the point of spilling out when I opened the cap.....yes, I know it's the stupid check valve.
- Today I pulled into the post office and *poof*, no front brakes. Glad there was no traffic. No leaks, but hearing it grind now tells me that I'm metal-to-metal. I know the linings weren't that bad because I just checked them recently. Got stuck in the mud on Sunday so I think the mud may have had something to do with it.
- ...and I found the first spot of rust on the truck.

This evening the thought of offing this machine and getting a nice clean red one is crossing my mind.

Later,

Look at it in a good light. Just more of a reason to upgrade and to put mods on. ;)

Good luck in whatever yo decide to do. [/DONTSELLYOURTRUCK] :D :D

Yeah, there's a pile of mods in the back room waiting to be put on - heads/cam/longtubes/mass air/S-trim/blah blah blah, but I am building a house and have to get that done first. Just don't have the place to do it in this little dump of an apartment I am cubby-holed in. Just is a bad time for things to crap out...

Oh, the only way I'd get rid of the truck would be if I could get into a nice clean red '95. I have regretted not buying a red one since the day after the first wash/wax of this black one... :)

Thanks,

Kevin, I have been having the same problems. everything is breaking. Yesterday my door handle froze up and i couldnt get my drivers door open from the inside. Now I thought my alternator was screaming but i am pretty sure it is the air pump.

Here is a copy of a post of what I did while the board was down.

Installed New Radiator
Installed New Heater Core
Installed New Oil Cooler Bypass Hose
Installed New Key Cylinder
Installed New Belt Tension Pully
Installed New Upper Pully
Installed a used air bag diagnostic monitor
Installed Dash Repair Kit
Installed Backlit Ford Emblem
Changed the Oil & Filter

I have been busy. My next project is to service the rear end. New fluid and gasket. Then the dreded rear main seal. Mine started leaking after the truck sat in the drive way for 3 days at christmas. It was bone dry before that. Sometime soon I think I will do a tune up also. I had to do something........I didnt want to actually talk to my wife. Ha Ha.

Good Luck

1 1/2 year hibernation  That is your entire problem.

My truck has been driven hard and put away wet daily (10,000 miles of pizza delivery in a 10k pop. college town in 18 months time) for 3 1/2 years and I've had only a few minor problems. (knocking on wood)

It's your trucks way of getting back @ you for not driving her ;)

The hibernation did consist of some driving here and there, just to keep the cobwebs out. But I do know that sitting is about the worst thing for a vehicle.

No, the absolute worst was this morning. While driving my wife's Taurus to work I passed a 454SS!!!!!!!!! I never see them, especially when I'm driving the truck.

Oh well. Time to roll out the toolbox...

Damn Thundr tuff break. Man I have mine in our garage right now under the cover. Its been sitting for about a month now because we got blessed this winter with good weather. I hope to get it out the 2nd of Feb cause of a local meeting. Hope everything is good. Should be its only got 27k on it.
