R/T Dyno Results

I just thought I'd share my dyno results with you guys. Thought maybe you L guys would like to see how this 'lil R/T is progressing.

Anyway, out of 2 run my Max Power = 258 and Max Torque = 337.3 which I thought was pretty good. I'm all motor with stock cam, heads, and tranny. Last time I was at the track I ran a 14.0@97.5...your thoughts and opinions please. I did notice that shakerboy is puting out 273.4 RWHP but only managed a 14.3@94.90. I'm guessing his torque is lower than mine.

I can't wait for the 150 shot....WOO HOO!!!

Good Numbers RT4...... weve played this game before? never mind.

What are your mods? I laid down 294/320 consistantly in pottstown with a slew of L guys (Delvaco) had a great time till the BIKE COP! anyway. that was with stock heads but the M1 Kammer cam, QickDs TB, Gen2 intake, 1.7RRS, Mopar Headers, true duals and a transgo plus the PCM.

I would say your numbers would be very very close if you add the Cam to your pack. Plus Im not sure of Shaker boys whole set up but I DO know his cams alil smaller then mine and I think he has 1.6rrs plus he has heads. thing is Shakes truck is alil heavier cuz of some other goodies he has AND its lowered which plays hell with luanching for him.

ehehehehehhee I think thoughs numbers will be obsolete in about 2weeks time(i hope and pray):D

I should have phrased that better. 258/337 are consistent numbers I'm putting to the wheels. I guess I have one of those freak R/Ts that is just a tad quicker than the rest. There was another identical R/T there as well. It was another '00 FR CC. The only mods I had over the guy was headers and a cut-out and he put down 245/305. I don't think headers and a cut-out will make that big of a difference. I have K&N Gen II FIPK, F&B 50mm TB, M1 2bbl, Mopar headers, Mopar PCM, and a cutout. That's it. Well I do have MSD 8.5mm and an Acell brass cap and rotor. I figure I'll hit high13s when I put my MSD-6AL and Street Blaster coil on. After that the 150shot and slicks will go on. I'll be comfortably in the 12s.

yes, i lost a lot of low end torque with the heads, and my cam is smaller than tim's. i ran the 14.3 before i did any motor work. plus i'm a club cab. i'm selling the 2.02 heads to danno and getting my stock heads ported and a valve job done. that should give me back a lot of the torque i lost. the 14.3 was also before the 4.56 gears, so i think once i get that torque back i should cut mid 13s on motor...then maybe spray....i dunno

Berry Intervesting.......

Looks like the main diffs between R2's truck and L-killer's truck are R2 has Nittos (if I remember correctly, you needed to really heat those to get that 14.0 pass) while LK's got a cam/RRs and reg-cab. The 0.2 difference could be the CC vs RC between the 2 trucks, and LK's stock tires handicaps him from seeing the benefit of the cam/RRs over what R2 runs (or could run if he had a RC). Hummmm.

I'm planning on a build-up very close to what you two have done and hope to get into the hi 13s N/A. The obvious mods I need to do are MP headers/cutout & catback, PCM, M1/TB (have shaker), and a good cam/RR combo that works well with the rest. I don't really want to pull the heads until I have to.

Why would you want to port the stock heads? I mean, they will never flow as much as the R/T heads. I guess if they suit the goal you're after then by all means go for it. I'm gonna hit high 13s when the rest of my ignition goes on. After that I'll slap a 125 shot on and see where I end up. If I hit mid 12s then I guess I'll be happy with that and leave everything else alone. Of course I say that now.

well...i'd like to try the small valve R/T heads, but it's the money factor....i can get some port work done for a few hundred bucks to the stock ones...or i can spend $700 or so on the R/T heads. i know they R/T heads flow like demons....but...hey can i borrow $700? hehehehehehe

It doesn't cost as much to get a Lightning into the 13teens as the RT's. Why not just save a few bucks and buy the best truck built, a Lightning?
Get rid of those damn Dodges!:)

Hey guy no flame suit needed but that MSD aint gonna give ya E.T.It may take away E.T. N/A'd by leanin ya out and takin away power.....But its all relative to alot of variables...With our stock system(speed density ala map sensoring)we are limited,,,split second and an MSD would be a nice combo....And that MSD will be handy with NOS:D So its all good....Just surfin:cool:

How would you know how much it costs? Nobody even mentioned prices.

LOL, Tim, you really gotta change that word in your sig.

Wreak: To inflict upon

Reek: Stink disgustingly

Please change that!:D

I am right at 13.00 and running all motor. I still don't have as much in my Dakota R/T than you do in your Lightning.:p If I wanted to by the best truck I will have to wait until the Dodge SRT-10  comes out. 12.9@106 Stock:D

Intense R/T,
I know for fact, you have more money in your dodge then I do in my 95 lightning. My truck is basically stock. :D.
Ken

i think as usual ronnie's comparing his amount with that of a gen2 lightning. i just want a delorean and go 88 miles per hour.....

Your truck is five years older than mine and things were a little cheaper then. You couldn't buy a 2000 Lightning for what you paid in 1995 for yours. I guess you get what you pay for, but I don't even have $30,000 in mine.:D

Get rid of those damn Dodges!

If all the R/T guys sold their trucks and bought Lightnings, we wouldn't have any trolls to pick on here, and the forum wouldn't be as colorful. :D

I think as far as the cost issue goes, this was sort of touched on a few weeks ago in that Civic vs. Lightning video thread. Different strokes for different folks. If everybody who wanted to "haul" fast bought a Lightning, the speedy truck world would be a boring place. Same reason that guy has a 13-second Civic instead of Camaro -- it's different.

Yawn......... not THIS argument again!!

Will you guys EVER learn?

MSRP Sticker on New '02 L2: ~$32,000 (probably low on this #)
Perf: Mid-hi 13s

MSRP Sticker on New '02 R/T-CC (the heavy, expensive one): ~$26,000
Headers: $350
Hi-flow Cat: $100
Cat-Back: $300
Cold Air: $300
TB: $250
M1: $400 (includes install kit)
PCM: $300
MSD & Coil: $250
1.7RRs: $560 (probably high on this #)
Valve Covers (needed for RRs): $130
Nitto DRs: $600
TOTAL: $29,540
Perf: Mid-hi 13s

This is N/A w/ stock cam, and heads, nothing special, AND, STILL have room to grow into a blower and/or juice!

What part of this don't 'yall understand?? And I don't want to hear of any excuses about getting a new L for $28K on "X-plan" crap, because an R/T can be purchased w/ the same type of discounts, etc.

once again some of you are so dad-gum adamant about getting your own point across, that you missed what was said (yet again)...

no-where in Ken's post does he mention an L2, or $30,000. as a matter of fact, he specifically states "95 Lightning"...

...the subject he brought up was/is the cost to get L1 vs. cost to get an R/T into the 13's. now, as to wether or not a L1 can get into the 13's (yet another clue as to his discussion of L1, as L2's come from factory running 13's) cheaper than an R/T is yet to be determined. probably yet another never-ending debate :)

FWIW, the L1's were about 24K new back in 95...figure inflation and such and i believe that price is dead even with a new L2.
