Quick Question

MY L. IS HAVING A HORRIBLE TIME CATCHING TRACTION, LATELY I HAVE HAD WHEEL HOP, AND I JUST DESCOVERED MY TIRES HAVE A FEW BAD BALD SPOTS IN THE REAR TIRES, MY QUESTION IS WOULD BALD SPOTS IN THE TIRE CAUSE WHEEL HOP, OR COULD MY REAR END NEED TO BE LOOKED AT, AND IT JUST WHEEL HOPS SOME OF THE TIME? I WAS WONDERING IF THIS IS COMMON WITH LIGHTENINGS, AND TO IMPROVE ALL THIS, I HAVE ORDERED RANCHO TORQUE ARMS, AND IM GETTING NEW RUBBER FOR THE REAR WHEELS, DO YOU GUYS THINK THIS WILL STOP MY PROBLEM WITH TRACTION.

ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD HELP.

THANKS BRANDON-

SEE THATS WHAT IM NOT SURE OF, BECAUSE I HAVE ONLY OWNED THE TRUCK FOR 2 YEARS NOW, AND IM NOT SURE WHAT HAS BEEN DONE TO IT, I AM PLANNING ON TRYING TO GET A HISTORY REPORT DONE ON IT, AND TRYING TO GET IN TOUCH WITH THE ORIGINAL OWNER. MY TRUCK HAS NOT FELT STOCK, SINCE THE DAY IT WAS PURCHASED. ALL THAT HAS BEEN DONE, IS H PIPE, WITH REAR CATS CUT, K&N FILTER, AND BUMPED TIMING TO 14 DEGREES. THE TRUCK IF IT DOESNT WHEEL HOP WILL SPIN SO HARD, IT WILL FISH TALE OFF THE LINE. IT RUNS LIKE NEW TO HAVE 76K ON THE SPEEDO. I WILL BE GETTING MY FIRST TIMES ON THE DRAG STRIP IN APRIL WHEN THE TRACK OPENS BACK UP. WELL I GUESS THE TIMES WONT LIE, SO I WILL HAVE TO WAIT TILL THEN.:D

WELL IM EXCITED ABOUT GETTING MY RANCHO'S PUT ON, WHEN THEY COME IN ALONG WITH MY LEVEL 10 SHIFT KIT. ONCE AGAIN, I APPRECIATE THE HELP.

A level 10 shift kit??:D You will love it with the rancho bars!! What rubber are you putting out back? And Ls love to spin em off the line with stock rubber and small mods!!:D Don't get burn out happy though or you will be :( very soon. You will be rebuilding or replacing your differential in your rear! And one other Q?? Is your caps lock stuck??? It hurt my eyes reading your post!LOL!:p Good luck!!

Currently I have Goodyear GT Eagle 2's, and im planning on putting the same tires on the rear. They are not to expensive, and they will do for now. I cant wait to get my shift kit, and rancho's. I have heard nothing but good things from these two mod's. . I am really shooting for a good time in the 1/8, I am hoping for atleast a 9.5, but I have a couple more things to do till I run my L. Oh yeah sorry about the CAPS LOCK! LOL, my bad! thanks again.

Once the GTIIs get worn ,as any other tire, they love to slide around all over. Once you get the Ranchos and new tires you should have no problem hooking up. Now add a blower or some nitrous and you can spin the tires, new or old, just about all you want :) Like FORDFREAK said don't get too burnout happy or you'll be fixin the rear.

YA, I GUESS ILL HAVE TO WATCH THOSE BURNOUTS:D , BUT A BLOWER WILL HOPEFULLY BE ON BY JULY OR AUGUST WHEN I GET THE MONEY. I DONT KNOW ABOUT PUTTING NITROUS ON, I DONT WANT TO TAKE THE CHANCE OF BLOWING MY ENGINE UP. BUT FOR A SUPERCHARGER I WAS LOOKING AT MAYBE GETTING A INTERCOOLED PROCHARGER, OH YEAH I AM AROUND THE LYNCHBURG AREA OF VIRGINIA. BUT GIVE ME SOME IDEAS ON WHAT THE BEST SUPERCHARGER WOULD BE.
THANKS.
BRANDON

I vote Vortech S-trim :D Procharger doesn't make a kit for our trucks so everything has to be fabricated(expensive). A Paxton Novi is a good choice, but only ELD makes a kit and that can get expensive also. Best bang for the buck would be the Powerdyne, and they can be made to go fast also, but can't be spun too much before failure.

Another vote for Vortech. Take a look at some of the folks here.....they're running Powerstroke intercoolers and that seems to be the latest thing that works. From what I can see, installing your own intercooler will run ya between $400 and $600, depending on how good you are at finding things used. It's a pretty clean swap.

But if cost were no object, I'd vote Paxton Novi 2000 with an intercooler. :)

Later,

Thanks again, I deafiently want to pick the best supercharger for my money. I do want to get an intercooled supercharger, so how much would the Novie Paxton intercooled supercharger run me?
Thanks again.

The way to go is vortech then formulate a plan to make a custom bracket to fit an ATI or paxton on the vortech kit when you grow out of the S-trim(or you can get a T-trim[doesn't that use the same brackets?]). That and the PSD intercooler is the way to go. Only powerdyne and vortech makes kits for the lightning, theres no intercoolers avalible either. If you see anything else on an L, thats one slick lightning owner right there cause they made it themselves. So can you weld, have a drill press handy ;) ? It ain't easy like all those mustang guys have it, you have to get crafty and improvise. Some of these knuckle heads among you may make there own PSD intercooler kit avalible in the future. Ditto with the paxton and ATI custom brackets to fit the vortech aluminum PS and AC/SC bracket.
