Questions for all of the stall converter users

I am thinking about getting one. I know they help out cars like the A4 LS1s. Do they help out any with the Lightnings? I cut a 1.81 60' with ET streets and a stock converter. What size should I get? What brand works best? Are they streetable for daily driving? Thanks in advance!

Contact Jim D@ JDM for a converter that will really do the job, plain and simple, mine works great! John H.

Get the precision industries stall from your favorite tuner.I would say there good for a 1-3 10ths depending on your set up and track conditions. I don't find regular driving to be much different than stock.I don't tow with mine so no input on that. The one downside to the stall is your launch on the street will leave you spinning unless you run et streets on the street.

Know your converter and understand what it does.

Things like Diameter, Stall Torque Ratio, Brake Stall, Flash Stall, Efficiency, Clutch Material and Weight are all very important.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Think I will go with the PI stall, seems to be what is working for everyone right now. I don't worry about hooking on the street, although it was fun, I don't street race anymore. Its too expensive!

I have a 2600 stall convertor from JL. It'll give you about 3 tenths at the track w/ slicks, but will hurt your traction on the street. Tire smoke is about a 1/4 throttle away with a convertor on street tires.
