Question about mass air conv.

I think my next mod will be a mass air conversion kit but I was wondering if I will be able to still pass CA. smog. In my mind I figure it should pass the sniffer test but when the tech pops the hood and sees a mass air flow meter he could fail me...what do you think?

do you really think that the tech will know that your truck didn't come stock with the mass air kit on it? I dont think most people know what the hell a mass air meter even is, let alone what it looks like.

and i know someone is going to mention an EEC-tuner, so allow me to be the first. :D Its way cheaper than the mass air kit, and it gives you the same results, plus a lot more.

just a thought

I'm almost positive that the majority of smog techs here in CA. will know that my truck didnt come factory with mass air....the few that I know personally would definatly notice! Would an eec-tuner work well with modifications such as cam, blower, etc. with no mass air?

yeah...the eec-tuner will work wonders with the stock speed density system. you'll be able to adjust your truck for any mod you do to it, including a blower, cam, injectors, etc etc. You'll also be able to changer your shift points and converter lockups, and for around $350 its a much better deal than a mass air conversion.

I'm sure someone that knows a little more about it will chime in soon enough and help you out with any other questions.

I'm waiting for my tax return to fix my rear end and get my eec-tuner. :D

hurry up post office!!!!
