Well the pulley swap was a piece of cake after doing from underneith the truck (why I tried from the top, I don't know <smack!> )

It's a 2# pulley (ASP & PSP) both directions say the stock belt will be fine, but tight. I can't get it on though, tried for an hour after swapping pulley only took 40 minutes.

Went to the local 24hr Auto Zone, nothing had one 8 rib belt that was shorter and one that was 1.5 ft bigger.

So what belt would I need and where can I find it, will it be special order or in stock? part number would be nice, I have in my area: Napa, Auto Zone, Pep Boys, O'Riley, and Van's.

The new pulley just about 8lbs lighter than stock one, and about 1/2" larger in diameter.

thanks nloc guys :)

it took me a while. It was a bitch. took 2 people. try putting the belt on the upper and lower pulleys and squeeze the belt between the two idler pulleys. Its still a Bitch.

i just installed a #4 lower pulley on my truck and used the factory belt w/ no problem. i did however have to modify the tensioner by breaking off the stop tab. this is done by removing the intercooler reservoir tank. this allows you to have full access to the tensioner. take a flat blade screwdriver and place it between the pulley and the tab and gently apply pressure and the tab should pop off. you may have to file a little if the break is not even.

What i1 said--or you can use a 1/2" breaker-bar placed in the 1/2" hole on the tensioner and move the tensioner asembly with just a little force and the 'nub'will snap off and you should be able to use the stock belt.
