puking oil under high RPM's...

hey guys, new dilema...

when i did the blower install, i went with a K&N valve cover breather, as the plastic line dosent reach the throttle body anymore. sounds good, right? heres the problem, when i get into the throttle, oil pukes back up into the breather and leaks all over the headers...ack.

anyone else run into this? it cant be the norm for a K&N valve cover breater, can it? if so, what did ya do to solve it besides put the old cap back on?

Hey Muddman, get some vacuum hose and run it from the valve cover to the air box, or to the intake hose if you have an open cone filter. Not sure if that'll work, but thats how I had it setup when I put the vortech on and never had any problems.

I have had this same problem and am having the problem...but now I don't have the blower on. Its like mine is building to much crank case pressure. I did a compression test and everything seems to bo ok. I thought it might be my rings going bad...but I m not sure. I have a lot of oil in my intake runners. I think this is coming from the pcv not sure....I would like to here some advise on this also. Thanks Craig

yea, mine was doin it before the blower too, but i just had an Edelbrock cap on it with the plastic tube running to the t/b...i ended up having to seal around the bottom of the cap with RTV because of all the oil that leaked onto the headers.

is it feasible to eliminate the whole problem by just throwing a rubber plug in it instead of the filter? or is it essential that the insides "breate",as it were?

I had a similiar problem with my Paxton setup... Initially I hooked up the breather from the valve cover to the top half of the airbox (While also using a K&N in place of the cap). With that hooked up there ended up being a puddle of oil collecting on top of the lower intake. I disconnected and capped the line from the valve cover on the theory that it was sucking in oil while in boost. In other words, crancase pressure + vacuum in the inlet of the blower = oil coming out that hose. Long way of explaining that it fixed my problem. :)

Hope that helps....

well, a little birdie just told me that i probably have no baffle inside the valve cover. which is true...theres nothing there when you pull the cap off, its a straight line view to the rockers. so, perhaps a little "creative modification" is in order...

Hey Muddmann
Have you g teched the truck since the blower?I know I don't need to say it but isn't the kenne bell a great blower. How about the clearance around the top end. P.S Will be needing those instructions soon. Later Alex
