Does anyony know if the new Powerdyne XB-1 will fit the Lightning?

I just got off the phone with Powerdyne, and the guy was not sure.

I thought someone here might know.

Thanks.

Supposedly it will bolt into existing brackets and tubing, and you just have to run oil lines for it. I don't know if it has a different outlet or what. Seems like it should be an easy swap regardless.

When I checked they said it would bolt in,you just need to plumb the oil line. They said it was the same case as the BD11 and they claim 18#'s of boost:eek: It's also $1700.00, that's when I decided to pitch the Powerdyne and go turbo.

Thanks for the input guys.

LETSRCE, Did you talk to someone at Powerdyne, or a place that sells blowers? I guess at the least, to get it on a Lightning, the intake side of the blower would have to be turned. I believe it is sold as a Mustang replacement only.

Do you have a number to the place you called? Maybe I could call them and get some more info.

Powerdyne said if I bought one, and it did not fit, there would be a 20% restock fee to send it back.

Maybe I should look at Vortech.

I just like my Powerdyne. It has been good to me so far. I am planning to turn up the boost with a 2.7” blower pulley.

It will probably not live very long.

Powerdyne said they could upgrade my BD-10 to a BD-11A for $465.00. I guess that would be a good option opposed to buying a new one.

Any more comments on what to do?

Thanks.

i would not pay almost $500 for an rebuild. That money would be better spent towards an xb-1, vortech, turbo, heads, or whatever.

A bd-11a might hold up just fine to a couple extra lbs of boost, but that just doesn't seem like its worth 500 bucks, especially since you will probably want to sell it if you get really serious.

Lately I've been concentrating on getting my truck built up on the n/a side of things. I'm buying some used windsor sr irons for $350, used headers for $200, and a new cam for probably $150. Obviously, it's going to be a lot of work to install all that, but it should be a pretty good bang for the buck.

BloG,

Good luck on all your mods. Sounds like your are on the right track with a head swap. I am not ready to do that yet. I think I would be happy if I could get into the mid to upper 13sec range, with the mods I have now.

I notice you live in Austin TX. I stayed there for three weeks a few years ago. I was on work travel for my job. At the time, my company’s name was Tracor. Now it’s BAE SYSTEMS. Just so you know the area I was in. I ate at place called County Line BBQ about every day. Boy it was good!

What a cool place! You are lucky. I would not mind moving there.

The county line is pretty good. We actually had a meeting of the austin lightning owners club there a few weeks back.

I've really enjoyed living in austin, i can't see living anywhere else unless something changes drastically.
