Well my blower went south. My lower shaft and bearingsand impeller, and the belt are no good.Dont know what to do.I hate to have to send it to powerdyne the get fixed, they will charge arm and a leg to fix.If i could only get the parts i can do it my self.does anybody know if you can get these parts some how?or does any body have a bad powerdyne and want to sell the lower shaft, impeller or the whole unit.Later i will probably get a pro charger.somebody here said a kit is coming out this spring. So can anybody help?

Well, I may be the next one to go. I have the BD-10. It has at least 40,000 miles on it. It may be more, I bought it used. I race at my local 1/8 mile track. I now have the 2.7" pulley on it. I have had the ASP crank pulley for a while. First gear 8.5psi. So far, no problem. I have only put it in full boost when at the track or on the street when something can give me a challenge! My last kill on the street was a 2000 Lightning from exactly 40mph up to 90. I had a full truck on him. My wife said, "I thought your truck was slower than a new Lightning. I said it might be a different story at the track.

My question is, do you guys with blown up Powerdynes romp on them a lot? Do you run 1/4 mile only? Do you have more miles on them than me?

What gives, I feel mine is bullet proof?

Maybe mine is the golden child! I will let everyone know when mine takes a sh*t.

my powerdyne has about 15K on it right now and I beat the hell out of it at the track and on the street. its holding up well so far. I'm gonna try to take it a bit easier on the truck this year though, i'm sick of fixing broken stuff all the time. I'd LIKE to have some more money for pro active mods. :D

Well,
You can say I make it work. I put new bearing in it about two weeks ago because it was making a loud screchting noise at about 4k rpms up. So I took it apart and found that one of the lower bearings had over heated and make the impeller start to hit the housings. No real damage was done. I gave the impeller to a friend of mine and balanced it thounsands of times better then stock Literly. I put it all back togther Sat. of last weekend and it seemed fine. After having it on for a week exactly the belt went on me. I took it apart to find that the it went on my own fault. When putting the blower back together I did not set the impeller all the way. This alowed the lower pulley to move a good 1/16s of an inch. All I was left with when I opened the blower was dust, (Will post pics later, its kind of neet :D ) Lucky nothing else got hurt but a belt and one of the bearings. So now I am trying to find this belt.

My goal now is to be able to rebuild this thing in a half hour, Im gettng pretty good at it to.

Heavy_Metal,
I would say you got the golden child, From what I have heard is the BD-10s was not the best for holding up there belts. I think the fact that you run it like you do keeps it alive.

Get a hold of Pete Revel, he know alot about these blowers and may be able to help you getting some of the parts
His email is peterrevel@hotmail.com

Also, You said your impeller is shot to, Didn't that take out the housing ?

DO NOT GET A HOLD OF PETE REVEL!I bought a set of bearings from him and they are not ceramic bearings, which you have to have.I found out a little about him from guys on here. His bearings is what messed up my blower, they welged them selfs to my lower shaft. And when you talk to him he will not say they are ceramic.because they are not.The man to call is Jack, forgot his last name,Its called performance bearing,760-251-3253.He makes bearings for nascar, and they are soppose to be BETTER then powerdynes.I was alittle too late when i bought my bearings,if id bought the bearings from performance bearing my blower would still be here.

I could possiblly get my blower running if i could get a impeller. Is there any wisdom out there to how i can get me another impeller? HELP!!!!!!!!

Mike what people don't understand about these powerdynes is they (the BD-11A's) , when used according to design, last!
I would be willing to bet most all BD-11A failures are from "OVERSPINNING" the blower. Keep the impeller speed below 40K and all is well. Powerdyne is not a blower for anyone who races a stick car, or for anyone who exceeds the recommendation specs. I personally have 20K miles on mine and about 50 hits down the 1/4 with no problems. It is like anything in life , if you over use its design it will break. Sometimes "WE" are our own worst enemies.

Any of you guys with broken BD11's chime in with your pulley arrangements and lets see.

And yes, like Mike says take the hint and get another blower if you can't live with the Powerdynes limitations

Yes Stock is right,i have a reduction pulley on the blower and a reduction pulley on crank. With this combo the truck really runs fast.No new lightning will be able to beat you.BUT!theres a heavy price,im going through it right now.

yes steve what you say is very true, add to that the fact that most mustangs rev higher then the Ls and its easy to see why the mustang community has a lot of problems while the Ls dont

if a person was only wanting something to pep up a near stock truck the powerdyne is a good choice, quiet and easy to install. the problem comes when you want to make your truck faster (who doesnt?) first thing most people do is add more boost which overspins the blower and causes damage.
